Muyorejo Surabaya Telp Fax Carbofuran exposure during embryonic development inhibit ChE and lead to abnormal brain development. This research was aimed to identify the effect of carbofuran exposure to chicken embryo on brain vesicle development during embryonal stage. This research used Randomized Complete design with 3 treatments and repetition with 10 fertile eggs each. Each egg in the control group were injected 0.1 ml NaCl physiologic 0.09%. All of eggs were stored into incubator in 38oC with 60 â 80 % humidity. Observation to brain vesicle were carried out in 72 hr incubation using whole mounts technique. In 72 hr after incubation, the measurement of ChE concentration were carried out by grinding the brain vesicle and the other eggs adding 0.2 ml sterile NaCl physiologic 0.9% solution.the exposure of carbofuran in degraded dose resulted in the increase ChE which was significantly difference and no significant differences in the formation of brain vesicle in those groups. Increasing ChE concentration caused brain vesicle have responsed to carbofuran as toxic agent and subserve growth regulatory and morphogenetic functions in developing embryo. Although carbofuran can promote cholinergic activity evoke neurodevelopmental damage, but brain vesicle resistant to carbofuran as good as adult brain.
