6 22316VIC Advanced Diploma Myotherapy 12 Months, Classes one day a week. Melbourne University, Hawthorn Campus Myotherapy is a manual therapy with a scope of practice aimed at treating and managing the soft tissues of the body. Soft tissues include muscular and connective tissues and their within and between system interactions. A Myotherapist uses underpinning knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics and pathology to understand the relationships between the myofascia (muscles and related connective A Myotherapist is a health practitioner specialising in the assessment, treatment and prevention of specific musculoskeletal conditions and somatic dysfunction. Treatment may involve various modalities that enhance the restoration and recovery from these conditions via treatment of soft tissues.
7 22316VIC Advanced Diploma Myotherapy Manage a Myotherapy Clinic Apply effective Research skills Provide Myotherapy assessments and techniques including; Dry Needling Cupping (Mechanical and Dynamic) Myofascial Release Temperature Therapy Stretching Including: Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) Mobilisation Corrective exercises Electrical stimulation device techniques Participants who wish to complete the qualification within 12 months will be required to study at least 30 hours per week. Participants with existing underpinning skills and knowledge may complete the qualification within a shorter timeframe based on their application to achieving completion of the required learning and assessments. Participants who study part-time may complete the qualification over 1-2 years.

Entrants to the 22316VIC Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy must provide evidence that they have gained competencies equivalent to those defined by: HLT50307 Diploma of Remedial Massage from the HLT07 training package, or HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage from the HLT training package

Melbourne University, Hawthorn Campus Immerse yourself in the ancient healing science of Ayurveda, a traditional Indian Wellness Philosophy that dates back over 5000 years. Learn how to; understand the elements of an individual, provide herbal massages and treatments, prescribe traditional herbs, and tailor lifestyle recommendations to balance and enhance wellbeing. This course has been developed in part with Ayurvedic Doctors and references the traditional text Charaka Samhita. By listening carefully to a person, you can hear the qualities of the elements; vata, pitta and kapha, and by looking at their tongue and eyes you can get a picture of their whole health. The basic premise of Ayurveda is that the entire cosmos or universe is part of one singular absolute. Everything that exists in the vast external universe (macrocosm), also appears in the internal cosmos of the human body (microcosm). When the body is healthy it self corrects, and self regulates just as the universe does.

Melbourne University, Hawthorn Campus Delve into the dynamic therapy of Shiatsu a traditional Japanese Massage technique which utilise a holistic approach to manage heath & wellness. The modality assesses, modifies and harmonises the Ki (Life Force) of an individual. Shiatsu is based on the theory of the 5 elements, and is widely used as a maintenance treatment. It has been shown to be beneficial to conditions such as: Asthma, Allergies, Headaches and Migraines, Stress and Fatigue. The Oriental Therapies component comprises of: Pulse Reading, Moxibustion, Diet Therapy, Gua Sha and Cupping. Entry Requirements Prior to enrolling in this training programs learners must complete a suitability process. Applicants must also have the HLTAID003 Provide first aid qualification It is also a requirement of Massage Institute Australia that all applicants complete a Literacy & Numeracy Test prior to enrolment if they have not received a nationally recognised training qualification at Certificate IV level or above.

20 HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage 12 Months, Classes one day a week. Melbourne University, Hawthorn Campus This qualification provides the skills required for competence in Remedial Massage and includes Sports Massage, Corporate Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Massage to Special Needs. We take an evidenced based approach to our training to ensure skills taught are current, valid and aligned with industry standards. We also provide videos of all the techniques which the student can review as many times as they like. After completing this course, graduates can register to become an approved WorkSafe Remedial Massage Therapist and can register as an Allied Healthcare provider with numerous private health insurance companies allowing clients with private health cover to claim on their treatments. Practitioners at this level may be self-employed as independent practitioners or may work within a larger health service. Remedial Massage Therapists may supervise other massage therapists.
21 200 Clinical hours form part of this Diploma and are incorporated into the delivery hours. This simulated learning environment provides a great opportunity for students to build confidence with their skill set, and be prepared for working in the industry. We also asssit in organising 20 hours of work placement which furthers the understanding of the requirements of a Remedial Massage Therapist. Pathways. This course provides a direct pathway to the 22316VIC Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy. Entry Requirements Prior to enrolling in this training programs learners must complete a suitability process. Applicants must obtain the HLTAID003 Provide first aid qualification. It is also a requirement of The Collective Wellness Institute that all applicants complete a Literacy & Numeracy Test prior to enrolment if they have not received a nationally recognised training qualification at Certificate IV level or above.
