Students must complete all 16 subjects satisfactorily in order to be deemed competent in these units. There are no entry requirements for studying the HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage. The Certificate IV Course is not a pre-requisite. It is also possible to study both the HLT42015 Certificate IV in Massage Therapy and HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage. SUBJECT N0. Just contact one of our course advisors for further assistance. 1 WHAT KIND OF STUDENT SUPPORT WILL I RECEIVE? You will be supported every step of the way from your first enquiry with our Course Advisors to direct contact with our Trainers and Assessors, and our amazing course materials through our online portal. Administrative support is also available, with a turnaround time of 48 hours during weekdays. If you are studying by correspondence, a trainer will answer your questions within 48 hours or less. You will also receive a comprehensive student handbook that walks you through your course. Each subject will be clearly laid out and will allow you to progress as quickly as you feel comfortable. The massage industry is booming and there are no signs of it slowing. Evolve College provides a web-based Job Finder service for students, graduates and employers alike. Updated on a daily basis, you ll find an array of job opportunities listed, both local and international. The Job Finder is used by prospective employers to specifically target Evolve College graduates. 2 DO I HAVE TO GIVE UP MY DAY JOB TO DO THE COURSE? Not at all! We have available a wide range of options so that you don t need to give up your day job and you can still complete the Diploma course in 12 months! If studying on-campus, depending on your location, you can choose from the following timetable formats: Weekends (Saturday & Sunday) Weekdays (Monday & Tuesday) Intensive (Monday - Friday) You can even do the course from the comfort of your own home with our comprehensive correspondence (home study) program. 15 3 ARE ANY PAYMENT OPTIONS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE? Evolve College offers a range of flexible payment options helping to make your training affordable: Full payment Pay the full course fee prior to the commencement of your course and you will receive a substantial discount. Package payment Pay two subjects together and receive a discount for each package. Subject payment If you require smaller payments then you can pay for each individual subject as you are ready. You can complete your training within a shorter time, or you can take up to 3 years (for the HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage). The choice is yours. In addition to the flexible payment options, students may like to look into the student loan packages available through various financial institutions across Australia. Contact your financial institution for more details. Austudy is available if you meet Centrelink s criteria. Applications for assistance are assessed directly by Centrelink, not Evolve College so if you wish to explore this option please contact your nearest Centrelink office to discuss your eligibility. We don t have stressful, written tests or exams! You participate in relevant knowledge checks, practical evaluations and online learning experiences. These are designed to support you in your learning and to prepare you to be an excellent therapist on graduation. All of Evolve College s training is focused on preparing students to be jobready on graduation. 5 IF I MOVE, CAN MY COURSE MOVE WITH ME? Yes! With training centres Australia-wide, you can organise a transfer from any location! 16 Study Options Evolve College offers leading edge education and training, designed to support and develop you in your chosen field of study. Our massage educators are leaders in their field. You have two study options to choose from. You can study by correspondence (home study learning) or on-campus (classroom learning). You will receive identical accreditation at the end of your training irrespective of the option you choose. Both correspondence and on-campus options are exactly the same in: content assessment qualification received Your decision as to whether to study by correspondence or on-campus will be based on your own needs and preferences, as well as your individual circumstances. Correspondence Studying by correspondence enables you to study at your own pace and you are not governed by a fixed timetable. Home Study subjects requiring practical study involve you completing a range of practical assessments including demonstrations, log book clinic hours, voluntary community hours and professional massage treatments. Clinical Assessment at a Training Centre is required during the Massage Practice programs held during Subject 8 and Subject 16. Major practical components of the course involving face-to-face assessments are undertaken. Throughout the program your knowledge and skills will be assessed by a qualified Evolve College Trainer and Assessor. On Campus Studying on-campus enables you to attend classes for all the practical components of the course. When studying on-campus you are provided with a class timetable listing the dates when your attendance is required (at a training centre of your choice). Evolve College has the largest number of training centres of any massage college in Australia. Enrolment Options The unique, flexible Evolve College training system maximises the value you get from your study. It allows you to fit your learning around your life. There are three different enrolment options. Your decision will be based on which method of payment is most suitable for you. OPTION 1: FULL COURSE Many students prefer to enrol in the full course option. Selecting this option has two advantages. First, it allows you to map out your whole course of study, start to receive materials and seamlessly work your way through. Second, this option provides a substantial discount. OPTION 2: PACKAGE The course subjects have been grouped into packages (2 subjects per package) for ease of learning and cost saving. OPTION 3: SUBJECT You can choose to enrol in one subject at a time to suit your own study needs, making this effectively your own payment plan. Private Health Funds Private health funds can enable members of the fund to obtain a rebate on remedial massage by approved providers. Private health funds set requirements which therapists must meet in order to be an approved provider. For instance study of the HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage course is required to be on campus. Private health fund requirements can be changed at the discretion of the private health fund at any time. Students will also gain an understanding of the skills and knowledge required to work effectively within a massage framework. The levels of organisation and structure of the human body are examined and how the systems function and interrelate. Appropriate practice-specific health terminology will be presented enabling the practitioner to effectively communicate with a range of internal and external clients in a health-care practice. Advanced practical study of anatomy relevant to massage with an emphasis on surface anatomy. Specific discussion is directed towards the skeletal, articular and muscular systems and their components.
