The protocol also aims to create a continuum of care for the patient across different levels of functional abilities. The protocol borrows principles from four well established treatment methods: Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), LSVT BIG, and Tai Chi. The protocol was developed in response to a perceived need for a more standardized approach to movement disorders to create a continuum of care and success across all facilities.
