2 Objectives & Benefits of MedShare Biomedical Training Program Health workers who receive training on the repair and maintenance of biomedical equipment and health workers who use that equipment in the diagnosis and treatment of disease are the direct beneficiaries of the program. Patients of all ages, who seek medical assistance requiring diagnostic tests or needing biomedical equipment in the provision of their care also benefit significantly. This program has the potential to impact the health and well-being of millions of people in each project Country or Continent. The schedule for each Country can be adjusted to fit local desires or cultures. Regardless of the format, we cover all minor and major types of surgical and monitoring equipment from simple blood pressure apparatus and sterilizers to Imaging Equipment, clinical laboratory, surgical and cardiac equipment. Hospitals from provinces/regions in these and nearby Countries are also welcome to take advantage of the training opportunity. Biomedical Technicians, Engineers and Hospital Personnel are advised to come along with their faulty Medical Equipment for repairs during the training sessions. Improve healthcare in the country:- 1. Identify common faults and Skills to remedies; Create, Mobilize and Organize an Effective and Enthusiastic Biomedical Team; Utilize Scientific Methodologies for Biomedical Assessment, Project Control and Hazard Prevention. Utilize Scientific knowledge for anatomy, physiology and principles of operation of medical equipment Conduct feasibility studies, cost and initiate viable medical equipment projects; Utilize professional knowledge to install, inspect, maintain, repair, and calibrate biomedical equipment and support systems to adhere to medical standard and WHO guidelines. TRAINING AIDS: Will include but not limited to projectors and screen, flip charts, magic boards, computers, other multi-media and audio-visual aids. Hand-Outs for each topic treated will be handed to Trainees. 7 INSTRUCTOR/RESOURCE PERSON:- Eben Amstrong Eben Amstrong is the Director of Biomedical Engineering Training and Technical Services at MedShare International USA. His duty is to ensure that all Medical equipment to be shipped or donated are in excellent working condition with the necessary manuals and accessories included before shipment. Eben also travel out of the United States to conduct Biomedical Engineering assessment of hospitals, Post assessment, evaluate, train and install medical equipment to recipient Countries. Eben has 18 years of International Professional experience as a Director of Biomedical Engineering. So far, Eben has worked, repaired Medical equipment and trained Engineers and Technicians in over 52 Countries in the World including Germany, Spain, London, Colombia, Honduras, Haiti, Ghana, Liberia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, South Africa, Ecuador, Guatemala, D.R Congo. Cote D Ivoire, Cameroon etc. He obtained City and Guilds of London Advance Certificates in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from FESS Technical College Muyuka and Government Technical High School ( GTHH) Kumba Cameroon. He got his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical electronics from College of Management and Technology Nigeria. He received with Distinction Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Medical Electronics Engineering and Physics from University of London and specialized as a Biomedical Engineer. Because of his brilliant performance, he was offered 1 year by the University to do Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering. Before moving to the United States of America in 2004, Eben worked as a Senior lecturer and Head of Electrical Electronics Department of FESS TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL in Cameroon for two years. He worked with the PRESBYTERIAN MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS in Cameroon as a Biomedical Engineer. He was the Coordinator/Technical Adviser of 6 Presbyterian Hospitals and 18 Health Centers of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon for 7 years. During this period, he organized in-service training for Biomedical Technicians/Engineers, repaired, serviced, ordered and Installed Medical Equipment like X-ray machines, Dental suites, Lab Equipment etc. He served as a Biomedical Engineer in ECHO INTERNATINAL in England and St. Bartholomew s Hospital in London where he was awarded best Worker of the Millennium in year While in US, Eben took biomed Courses with several medical equipment companies With his broad experience in biomedical field he was immediately recommended by the Lead Professor of Biomedical Engineering Department of the Chattahoochee University to work in different Medical equipment Companies & Hospitals in USA. Prior to joining MedShare in May 1, 2006 Eben worked with WELL STAR Hospital Austell, Grady Hospital, Well Star Marietta, Fayetteville Hospital and R & F Imaging company in Atlanta Georgia all in USA. Because of his excellent skills in training, repairing variety of equipment and educating college Students, Technicians and Engineers; Ebe awarded Biomedical Engineer of the year 2008/2009 in the State of Georgia. And in 2012 Eben was recognized as one of the top 50 biom Professionals by 24x7 Organization in USA He loves singing, plays guitar and soccer. He speaks French and English. Page 7
