Activities include discussions with Neurology attendings, residents, and outpatient neurologists, neurology case presentations, seminars, journal clubs, and arranging shadowing opportunities with practicing neurologists. Resident Mentor, Fall 2008-present Served as contact for questions and observing opportunities, whether with myself or with resident colleagues, for medical students demonstrating an interest in neurology. President, Fall 2007-Spring 2008 Duties mainly involve facilitation and coordination of all events, including direct communication with the American Academy of Neurology to inform the academy of progress in our local chapter. UMMSM Academic Societies Fall 2006-Spring 2008 This program is a collaborative effort between students, faculty and administration to foster peer-teaching of clinical skills, enhance teamwork, and provide students with leadership, research, and community service opportunities. 4 As an executive board member, I was involved in the planning and execution of academic and community service events organized by the executive board, and I participated in individual societies events to help encourage future activities that benefit the local community. Write web code using PHP language to maintain the Academic Societies website updated for society events while adding new userfriendly features for easy site navigation. Adler-Everitt Society o Director, Fall 2007-Spring 2008 Oversee the function of the entire society comprised of over 50 students from all four med school classes o Society Training Coordinator, Fall 2006-Spring 2007 Oversee all the peer-teaching of clinical skills to the first and second year medical students within the society. Organize the upperclassmen and faculty within the society who could attend and assist in training the first and second year medical students Department of Community Service (DOCS) A student-run community outreach effort of the School of Medicine. This program offers students, faculty, and residents the opportunity to practice their clinical skills while providing screening service and health education to underserved South Florida communities. Neurology Resident Supervisor Fall 2010-present Operated the neurology station by directly seeing all patients screened for disorders including but not limited to memory deficits, sleep disturbances, and parkinsonian features. Taught students pertinent aspects of physical examination per case, listened to presentations from students and provided constructive criticism for their improvement. Ophthalmology Station Manager Fall 2005-Spring 2006 Responsible for organizing and running the ophthalmology station, setting up smaller stations for visual acuity, FDTs, intraocular pressure, and fundoscopy. Rotated students through each ministation at different hours to maximize experience in different aspects of ophthalmological screening. On average, each health fair involved screening patients for identifiable visual defects, namely glaucoma. Anatomy Teaching Assistant 10/2005-2/2006 Volunteer position that involves teaching first year medical students during each of their anatomy lab sessions. Activities include prosection of cadavers in the anatomy labs, directing first year students in the method of their dissections, and preparing prior to the lab sessions in order to quiz the students on each dissection. Christian Medical Association Nicaragua Medical Mission Spring 2006 & 2007 Participated in a trip to provide much-needed medical attention to natives living around 3 predetermined sites nearby Managua, Nicaragua. Lead a team of 3-4 students in interviewing patients, performing physical exams, and later presenting to attending physicians who volunteered their time to go on this trip.

5 Distributed medications as needed for these patients. Taught freshmen medical students on the diagnoses we encountered.
