Orlando, FL, OTHER CREATIVE ACTIVITIES 1. From 2012 to 2014,I served as Medical Director for Surgical Specialties at SFGH, I generated timely, relevant and actionable data for outpatient surgical specialty clinics to drive physician engagement in quality and operational improvements. As part of a 9 of 10
10 leadership team, I conducted a hospital-wide comprehensive needs assessment of all outpatient specialty clinics at SFGH. I helped lead an effort to develop data dashboards for these clinics in order to track operational and performance metrics, with the goal of improving health care delivery in this setting. I worked with hospital leadership to restructure outpatient specialty clinic scheduling, with a focus on transparency and accountability in provider staffing. These efforts were aimed at minimizing cancellations of clinics, and improving patient and staff experience. I spearheaded an effort to redesign the preoperative process, developing a standardized patient-centered work-flow with a focus on delivery of quality care. I served as physician champion for the roll-out of a new outpatient EMR, which required coordinating and overseeing facilities changes, workflow development, and training for multiple surgical specialties at SFGH. 2. In late 2014, I was appointed Chair of the Clinical Operations and Metrics (COMP) at SFGH, which oversees clinical and operational improvement activities for the UCSF faculty group at SFGH, Clinical Practice Group (CPG). In this role, I am responsible for developing and implementing a $6 million practice improvement program (a valuebased purchasing program) administered by the San Francisco Health Plan for CPG. 3. I was selected as a Fellow in the California Health Care Foundation Leadership Development Program. This is a highly competitive 2 year fellowship which offers clinically trained health care professionals the experiences, competencies, and skills necessary for effective vision and leadership of the health care system. Led by national experts in health care and leadership development from the UCSF Center for Health Professions and the UCLA Anderson School of Management, the program addresses health care issues from the perspectives of business management and public policy. Over the two years that I participated in this program, I lead an improvement effort to decrease no-show rates and cycle times in Otolaryngology clinic at ZSFG. 10 of 10
