8 Derby: 2011/12 Number of alcohol related admissions fallen from 2,125 to 1,375. A -14% decrease English national average showed an increase of 4% Derby among England s top 5 local authorities for alcohol harm Between 2009 and 2011 there was an 184% increase in the numbers receiving community alcohol treatment Increase in percentage of successful treatment exits from 42% to 69% See: Annual rate of alcohol-related admissions per 100,000 population (EASR)

10 Derby: 2012/13 Since 2010 based on average stay in hospital of 350 By 2012/13 Derby had saved approximately 8 million based on the actual reduction in alcohol related hospital admissions The cost of treatment had been 4 million giving a return of investment of 1:2 Alcohol related crimes had reduced from 2,710 in 2008/9 to 765 in 2012/13 The unit cost for alcohol treatment had fallen from 4,919 in 2009 to 1,826 in 2011 See: Trajectory and savings of total alcohol-related admissions in Derby
