Sunday Sales In the Parish of Jefferson Davis, there are no laws prohibiting the sale of alcohol on Sundays. Noise Regulations The Parish of Jefferson Davis does have laws governing noise created by businesses. Generally speaking, you should not create a level of noise that disturbs your neighbors. 3 Litter In the Parish of Jefferson Davis, there are no laws prohibiting the possession of an open container of alcohol, or the public consumption of alcoholic beverages. The Parish of Jefferson Davis does not require any form of alcohol server permit, Bar Card or ABO Card. The Parish of Jefferson Davis does not require any form of local server training. Other Provisions It is illegal to sell or serve alcoholic beverages of high alcohol content in the portion of Ward Six of the Parish of Jefferson Davis, outside the city limits of the Town of Welsh. City of Jennings In the City of Jennings, it is illegal to for any lounge to sell or serve alcohol between the hours of 2 a.m. and 10 a.m. every day. A lounge is defined as any business with a Class A On- premise consumption license that has more than 60% of its sales from alcoholic beverages. All other licensed establishments may not sell or serve alcohol between the hours of 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. every day. Other Regulations In the Town of Welsh, alcohol permits may be suspended or revoked if the retailer is conducting his business in a disorderly manner, permitting disturbances of the peace, and the operation of the business as a disorderly house and in such a way as to disturb the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. An alcohol permit may also be suspended or revoked if the proprietor allows intoxicated persons to loiter in and around the premises. In the Town of Welsh, it is illegal to have screens, partitions, walls or other obstructions that prevent an open and unobstructed view of a retail place from the street. In the Town of Welsh, owners and employees can be barred from working in a beverage alcohol outlet by the mayor for up to one (1) year if they participate in any activity prohibited by town, state or federal law.
