9 Diabetes/Obesity Testimonial FITLOGIX - RA In the course of a year I lost over 70 pounds went from obese to normal weight and got rid of my diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes. I was taking six different medications daily I was able to get off all my medications including ones for high blood pressure and cholesterol. This change represented significant savings for me and the company. As a technical trainer I know how difficult it is to find good qualified people; wellness programs allows a company to get more productive years from its workforce. I loss two pounds a week for over thirty-five weeks the idea was to find healthy life style changes that can be maintained. My weight has been stable for over two years. I have recently passed the ten million step mark and I am coming up on the five thousand mile mark. My loss of weight, watching what I ate and taking time to exercise was motivational to others. It impacted my wife some of my coworkers and an apprentice in my electronics class. The ability of positive self-change to motivate others is another of the advantages of wellness programs. 9
10 Diabetes/Obesity Testimonial Dietician/University of Penn Study - NE SEPTA s Health and Wellness Programming worked wonders for me. It was through the nutritional counseling that I learned about my food and drink intake choices and serving amounts and how they affected my weight, waistline, energy, sleep and productivity. SEPTA s Health and Wellness Program showed me that my dietary choices were not healthy, in substance or in amount, which helped me change my consumption attitude. SEPTA s program was the impetus for me to seek a different path in my wellness journey. I m happy to report that after beginning the journey in November 2014 with SEPTA s Health and Wellness Programming, then enrolling in a local strength & fitness and diet program, I am: happier and healthier at 60 lbs. lost over 10 inches lost in my waist reduced shoe size (LOL, I wasn t expecting that to happen) better sleep lots more energy much less illness increased confidence and well being Thank you SEPTA for your awareness raising Health and Wellness Programs. 10
