2 The History of Gertrude Hawk Chocolates Gertrude Hawk began making chocolates in the kitchen of her home on Mark Avenue in the Pocono Mountains region of Pennsylvania in Gertrude s son Elmer joined the business after World War II. With the back pay from his military service, he invested in chocolate making equipment. In 1963, Gertrude and Elmer built their first large-scale manufacturing facility and retail store. Seven additions were made to this facility. David Hawk (Elmer s son and Gertrude s grandson) now owns the business. David began working in the business as a young boy, gaining hands-on experience in a variety of production, retail, and management positions over the years. Today we utilize over 150,000 sq. ft. of modern production and distribution space to supply our customers with the products they have grown to love. Whether you are imprinting on the sleeve, box lid, or film, your company name is sure to be noticed! PLATE CHARGES Boxed Chocolates: $ plate charge (one time charge). The same plates may be used for more than one product when stamping sleeves. When stamping box lids, separate plates are required for each item ordered. Molds: $50.00 plate charge (one time charge).
