3 Lectures Medicinal chemistry III theory course, course code (PCH 433) for level 8 students (outgoing batch of bachelor of pharmaceutical sciences) Effectively assessed students by various exam patterns including, quizzes, preparing questions with multiple choice questions, written assignments and viva-voce. Student s oral communication skills were assessed by requesting them to present a topic in the class rooms. Continuous assessment of students were made at each class by interaction with them. With the view of applying theoretical knowledge, practical sessions were conducted to medicinal chemistry courses (Medicinal Chemistry I and II). Hands on training of students were evaluated at regular intervals by conducting practical exams. Lectures, pharmaceutical chemistry 1 for credit hours students. Lectures, organic chemistry 1 for first year students. Effectively assessed students by quizzes, multiple choice questions and essay type questions. Students' communication skills and team work skills were encouraged and assessed by requesting them to do research projects and oral presentations in seminar rooms and group discussions were done on the same. Concepts of computer-aided drug design were conveyed to the students through interactive lab sessions and they were assessed by requesting them to submit a research project using the computer-aided drug design different modules. Supervised the practical course of pharmaceutical chemistry 1 for third year students. Pre-labs were given on weekly basis to the instructors to give the directions for proper explanation and demonstration of the labs. University of Ain Shams, Cairo, Egypt Doctoral Work in Dept. of Medicinal Chemistry Designed new thiazolone based derivatives using previous reported SAR study by bioisosteric modification of the lead compounds. Performed molecular modeling simulation studies using Discovery studio 2.5 on the designed compounds through docking of the proposed molecules at the binding site of the polymerase enzyme. Synthesized the proposed molecules Proved the structures of the synthesized molecules by performing elemental analysis, FT-IR spectra, 1 HNMR spectra and MS spectra. 5 Performed biological evaluation of the synthesized molecules at the Rega institute, Katholique university of Leuven, faculty of medicine, Belgium by performing Luciferase assay for evaluation of the antiviral effect of the compounds and MTS assay for evaluation of the cytotoxicity. Performed further molecular modeling studies in the Molecular Modeling Lab, Institute of Molecular Pharmacy, Pharmacenter, University of Basel using Glide docking to give further envision about their probable binding modes in the allosteric binding site.
