4 Mackinac Island-Area Information Hotel Accommodations: You may select from three types of accommodations as described below. The daily rates listed below are based on the Modified American Plan and do include a full breakfast and five-course dinner each day. A 19.5% added charge is applied to the room and meal rates. At Grand Hotel, tipping is neither expected nor permitted. Michigan's 6% state sales tax applies to the room rate as well as to the 19.5% added charge (subject to change). The hotel also has a one-time charge of $7.50 per person for transfer and baggage handling from the dock to the hotel and return (subject to change). ALL RATES ARE MODIFIED AMERICAN PLAN (includes breakfast & dinner) Room Categories Conference Rates (2 people) (1 person) Category I - Smaller, interior-view rooms $ $ Category II - Larger, interior-view and smaller lake view rooms $ $ Category III - Special, deluxe guest rooms, some with balconies $ $ Children's Rates (Modified American Plan) These are daily rates and apply to children occupying the same room with parents 11 years of age and under No Charge years of age $ years and over $ Room Deposits: The hotel requires a one night s deposit (plus tax & 19.5%) to guarantee your room. Grand Hotel accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, traveler's checks, personal checks, and cash payments for bills. Cancellation Policy: Individual group reservations are subject to a 10 day cancellation policy. Reservation deposits will be refunded if canceled 10 or more days prior to arrival, less a $35.00 processing fee. Reservations canceled less than 10 days prior will forfeit their room deposit. Once a guest confirms a departure date upon check-in, should check out occur earlier than agreed, there will be a $ charge. Check in/out times Check-in time is after 4:00 pm and check-out time is 11:00 am. While every effort is made to accommodate guests arriving prior to check-in time, rooms may not be immediately available. Transportation: Mackinac Island is served by Pellston, Michigan airport which is 12 miles south of Mackinac City. Air taxi service is available from Pellston airport to Mackinac Island airport and can be arranged through Great Lakes Air ( ), or ferry service is provided from the Mackinac City dock to Mackinac Island for a small fee. Most ferry s do not run after 9:30 pm. Horse-drawn carriage taxi transportation is available from the boat docks on Mackinac Island to the Grand Hotel and return. The approximate taxi fare is $5.00 per person, one way. Taxi rates cannot be guaranteed. Grand Hotel dock porters meet all ferries as they arrive on Mackinac Island. They will assist you with seeing that your luggage is delivered to the Grand Hotel and in helping you secure taxi service.

5 Travel Arrangements For flight information or airline tickets, please contact Dani B. at Options Travel. You may contact Dani at extension 109 or by at Options Travel is an independent travel company. There is a per ticket processing fee. Tipping: Grand Hotel operates with a "NO TIPPING" policy. There is NO TIPPING to any employee anywhere in the hotel. Tipping is not required, expected, or permitted. This includes ALL services such as dining room waiters, cocktail servers, bellmen, doormen, dock porters, room service employees, chambermaids, and all other departments and employees. Because tipping has been eliminated, the hotel makes an added charge of 19.5% of the daily room and meal rates. Activities: Swimming, no charge to guests, golf, cycling, saddle horses, tennis, vita course exercise trail, carriage tours, shuffleboard, nightly dancing in the Terrace Room (no cover or minimum charge and complimentary movies. Dress Guide: Since the Grand Hotel is a resort, they want you to feel at ease and dress comfortably. During the day, informal resort clothing is generally accepted. Since evenings are an occasion, most guests prefer to dress in their finest. After 6 p.m., dresses and suits for ladies (includes children 12 years of age an older) are preferred, while gentlemen (includes children 12 years of age and older) are required to wear jackets and ties in all areas of the hotel.
