Rotavirus antigen not detected Enzyme Immunoassay Set-Up Schedule Processed ASAP, 7days a week, all shifts. : RPR RPR pre delivery, prenatal RPR 1662 &1744 (RPR pre delivery, mother's)1194 (RPR) RPR, PDRPR, RPRPD Sample should be tested within 48 hours. The sample may be stored at 2 to 8 C for five days The preferred sample is a 7.0 ml clot tube. 3.0 ml serum 1.0 ml serum Non-Reactive Flocculation Serum that is grossly hemolyzed or contaminated may not be used. Patients that are not pregnant that test as Non Immune can be vaccinated. Salicylate Aspirin, Acetylsalicylic Acid (ASA) 1201/SALICT /RMH Run immediately in chemistry. 9 Specimen Container Preferred Specimen Instructions Reference Range Set-Up Schedule Specimen Requirement Stool Culture Enteric Pathogens 1099, STLC RMH Room Temperature Para-Pak (C&S) Preserved Stool, do not refrigerate or freeze Collect fresh stool in clean dry container. Using the collection spoon built into the lid place small scoopfuls of stool in the container. Mix with the spoon. Recap tightly and shake the tube vigorously until the contents are well mixed. For patients requiring the use of diapers, first line the diaper with clean plastic to prevent absorption. Then transfer 2 g or 2 ml of the stool specimen from the plastic lined diaper to the Para-Pak container. Do not submit the diaper itself. Cap securely. Stool will be cultured for the presence of Salmonella sp., Shigella sp., Campylobacter sp., Aeromonas, Plesiomonas and Escherichia coli H7:0157. Stool will not be checked for Yersinia enterocolitia or vibrios unless specifically requested. If other organisms are suspected, that fact must be noted under comments so appropriate techniques can be employed Conventional Culture Processed daily. Preliminary reports within 24 hours Fresh stool must be placed in the preservative within one hour of collection. Stool for WBC Gram stain 1486, STLWBC /RMH Specimens must tested immediately Fresh stool in Sterile Screw Cap Container, only one specimen accepted per day 5 grams 0.5 gram No WBC s seen Microscopic evaluation of gram stained smear WBC s rapidly degenerate in stool, evaluation of the stool after 2 hours post collection may yield false negative results.
