We have been advised by CEOP & the National Crime Agency that there is a Company called Safebook UK who appear to consider themselves online protection enforcers. They appear to be identifying young people on Apps (specifically an app called BIGO ) and then contacting schools to bring a concern to their attention about their pupils. This appears to be a major scaremongering exercise and causing a lot of concern to schools, parents and pupils. The Authorities are aware of the activities of Safebook UK and if this Company should contact a School, they should not engage with them and report any matters to their local Police. The National Online Safety Team Page 2 of 12

Hay fever is usually worse between late March and September, especially when it's warm, humid and windy. This is when the pollen count is at its highest. What causes hay fever? Hay fever is an allergic reaction to pollen, typically when it comes into contact with your mouth, nose, eyes and throat. Pollen is a fine powder from plants. Check if you have hay fever Symptoms of hay fever include: sneezing and coughing a runny or blocked nose itchy, red or watery eyes itchy throat, mouth, nose and ears loss of smell pain around your temples and forehead headache Page 4 of 12

earache feeling tired If you have asthma, you might also: have a tight feeling in your chest be short of breath wheeze and cough Hay fever will last for weeks or months, unlike a cold, which usually goes away after 1 to 2 weeks. How to treat hay fever yourself There's currently no cure for hay fever and you can't prevent it. But you can do things to ease your symptoms when the pollen count is high. Do put Vaseline around your nostrils to trap pollen wear wraparound sunglasses to stop pollen getting into your eyes shower and change your clothes after you've been outside to wash pollen off stay indoors whenever possible keep windows and doors shut as much as possible vacuum regularly and dust with a damp cloth buy a pollen filter for the air vents in your car and a vacuum cleaner with a special HEPA filter Don't cut grass or walk on grass spend too much time outside keep fresh flowers in the house smoke or be around smoke it makes your symptoms worse dry clothes outside they can catch pollen let pets into the house if possible they can carry pollen indoors Page 5 of 12

A pharmacist can help with hay fever Speak to your pharmacist if you have hay fever. They can give advice and suggest the best treatments, like antihistamine drops, tablets or nasal sprays to help with: itchy and watery eyes and sneezing a blocked nose See a GP if: your symptoms are getting worse your symptoms don't improve after taking medicines from the pharmacy Your GP might prescribe steroids. If steroids and other hay fever treatments don't work, your GP may refer you for immunotherapy. This means you'll be given small amounts of pollen as an injection or tablet to slowly build up your immunity to pollen. This kind of treatment usually starts in the winter about 3 months before the hay fever season begins. If you feel unwell in school let the school nurse know as well. More information can be found on NHS UK website. Page 6 of 12

On Friday 18 th May the whole school were invited to a banquet lunch to celebrate the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the FA Cup Final. All parents were invited and over 50 parents attended. The school hall was decorated with red, blue and white ribbons, balloons and Union Jack Flags. There was music playing of wedding and football tunes. The kitchen staff Seymour and Darren served a variety of food including Thai chicken curry, cupcakes and rice cakes. There was a lot of leftover food so the staff could have some. All of the parents and the students really enjoyed the banquet lunch and saying how lovely it was. Page 8 of 12

Lauren and Charlie had the pleasure of meeting with Seymour, Darren and Karen this week, the kitchen staff who work hard behind the scenes to produce all the catering for the school. We thought we would learn about who they are and the major part they play in the school. Darren started here at Round Oak in 2007, his first kitchen job, previously he d worked in a front of house role. Karen works for Class Catering and has been at Round Oak since October Karen makes all our sandwiches and does all the prep for the salad bar. The kitchen also provides the catering for Bishops Itchington Primary School, as they don t have their own facilities, and Karen delivers the food to them. Seymour arrived in September 2017, a six week assignment and he s been here ever since! Seymour has been working in a kitchen since he was 15 years old; he studied at University College in Birmingham to gain his qualifications. On Friday 18 th May the school hosted a banquet to celebrate the Royal Wedding and the FA Cup Final. It was extremely busier than normal. The Tremendous Trio in the kitchen provided all of the tasty and fabulous catering! Alongside the school menu they cooked up a red thai chicken curry with coconut rice and for dessert a cup cake with the Harry and Meghan rice paper logo! Enjoyed by everyone! Darren, Seymour and Karen really enjoy working in our school. They think the students are great and very well mannered, with an awesome sense of community spirit! Page 9 of 12
