1 Getting to Know Our Families ChanceLight Helps Children Reach Their Full Potential We take the time to develop meaningful relationships with our clients and understand each family s unique dynamics. We assess every child s current level of functioning, prescribe the appropriate set of programs for him or her to begin treatment, and interactively train you and your team of therapists. Your Partner In Life-Changing Autism Treatment For Your Child Our energetic and enthusiastic therapists are passionate and eager to start making a difference in your child s life. All families want the best for their children. If your child has an autism spectrum disorder, we can help. Our skilled therapists work with families in Georgia and throughout the country to deliver individualized services to children up to age 21. ChanceLight offers autism services and utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis therapy or ABA which is widely recognized as the most effective, evidence-based treatment for autism. 4 Understanding the Practice of ABA Therapy We offer intensive, research-based behavioral treatment that yields the best outcomes for children, which is why we strongly value and practice Applied Behavior Analysis therapy. According to Autism Speaks, the world s leading autism science and advocacy organization, ABA fosters basic skills such as looking, listening, requesting and imitating, as well as complex skills such as reading, conversing and understanding another person s perspective. ABA also helps reduce behaviors that make it difficult for children to learn. Working closely with families and education professionals, ChanceLight uses the principles and procedures of ABA to teach language, social, selfhelp, academic, daily living and life skills. We develop customized ABA therapy programs and equip each child s home, clinic and/or school team with the training and supervision necessary for high-quality, consistent teaching and behavioral intervention. Families appreciate the added reassurance of knowing our plans are developed and monitored under the direction of a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA). Services are intensive, and the schedule and frequency of services is designed to meet each child s individual needs.
5 We Work Where Families Need Us ChanceLight understands families need treatment options to help accommodate unique scheduling and geographic challenges. We provide our comprehensive services to children and families in our clinics, in their homes (based on location), in schools, and near military bases throughout the country. Some families prefer the one-on-one teaching and convenience of our homebased services, while others value the peer interaction their child receives in a clinic setting. We also work with school districts across the country to provide staff training, consulting and ABA programming.
6 How Can You Get Started with ChanceLight? Studies indicate the earlier children receive ABA therapy, the more gains they make. We serve children of all skill levels across the autism spectrum up to age 21. Getting started is easy. 1. Secure a copy of your child s evaluation which includes test results, a diagnosis of autism and a prescription for ABA therapy. The evaluation must be conducted by a licensed physician or psychologist and is required to start the intake process. 2. Visit ChanceLightGeorgia.com and complete our online intake form or you can call our intake coordinator at (888) Once we receive your intake information, we will call you to complete the intake process.
7 Insurance and Funding Coverage Options As a result of recent policy changes in Georgia, more children with autism have coverage for ABA therapy. Ava s Law originally passed in 2015 as a result of Anna Bullard s fight to secure ABA coverage for her daughter Ava and children throughout Georgia diagnosed with autism. CURRENT BENEFITS OF AVA S LAW: $35,000 annual coverage for families for ABA therapy ABA therapy coverage up to 20 years of age Option for families to purchase Affordable Care Act child only plans that cover ABA therapy ABA THERAPY IS ALSO COVERED BY: Many commercial insurance providers Government providers such as TRICARE for active duty and retired military personnel Medicaid Certain companies pay for all or some ABA therapy INSURANCE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE: A diagnosis with a written diagnostic test by a licensed physician or psychologist, or other licensed professional as designated by the Medical Composite Board A prescription for ABA therapy Our qualified professionals can provide support to help families determine their insurance benefits.
