4 PAIVC Task: Statement of Work Define and optimize the data gathering process Define AIV subtypes to be explored initially & those for expansion over time Update the inventory & phylogeny of circulating poultry viruses with accessible hemagglutinin sequences Review & analyze antigenic data for AIVs Compile & review vaccination/challenge study results Communicate very clearly & openly on this process with national authorities as well as with the private industry, & facilitate early and open sharing of data & knowledge with international & national vaccine manufacturers
5 PAIVC Task: Statement of Work Conduct a preliminary review of the vaccines used in the field including products, seed strains, manufacturers & challenge strains, and disseminate results Make recommendations on challenge strains for efficacy determination & licensing Make use and/or develop interlinked interoperable bioinformatics tools Harmonize laboratory protocols & analysis Develop better methods to assessment vaccine effectiveness in the field of resource poor countries compiled and identify gaps in vaccine effectiveness data
6 PAIVC Task Outcomes Make recommendations for poultry AIV vaccine seed strains on annual or biannual basis The findings and recommendations of the annual/biannual consultation will be posted online at the OFFLU website with credit to the contributing labs Conflict of Interested All PAIVC consultants will sign a disclosure stating potential conflicts of interest, recapitulating the ethics standards of the WHO VCM
7 Other Tasks Vaccination Handbook Increased/improved sharing of critical reagents including viruses, sequences, antisera related to vaccines and vaccination Support for continued outputs of vaccine seed strain recommendations from Swine Influenza Virus and Equine Influenza Virus Technical Activities Exploring funding sources to support Vaccines/Vaccination Technical Activities
