2 Feeling tied down? With so many cords constantly wrestling with one another for space and mobility in your operatory, it s no wonder you feel tethered and your movement constricted. Even Steve Buchanan, DDS, doesn t hesitate in saying cords are a pain in the neck for dentists and endodontists. So what makes cords so inconvenient in the operatory? Several things! You could be walking by the operatory cabinet and pull the thing out of the holder because the cord s sitting on the ground. In other words: It s a huge pain in the neck. A cord lying across a patient s chest during a fill always creates an awkward feeling for both the doctor and the patient. For a general dentist, corded equipment means inconveniently moving the instrument from one operatory to the other or being confined to where it remains plugged in. You re right; cords are a pain!
