Handpiece and Prphy Angle Hkups: 1. Standard hse cnnectrs at each unit. 2. Handpieces are NOT prvided fr Candidate use. 3. Candidates must bring their wn handpieces. B. Snic/Ultrasnic Devices: 1. Standard quick discnnect air/water hkups fr snic/ultrasnic devices 2. Snic/ultrasnic devices will NOT be prvided by facility. 3. Candidates must bring their wn snic/ultrasnic devices. C. Air/Water Syringe Tips: 1. Dispsable plastic tips are prvided D. Bld Pressure Cuffs and Stethscpes: 1. Bld Pressure Cuffs and Stethscpes are NOT prvided fr candidate use. 2. Sterilizatin Services: Sterilizatin Services will be available, at the clinic, daily frm 7:00am t 6:00 pm fr the duratin f the exam. 3. During the Clinical Exam Dental Operatry Units: Wrkstatins are Hygiene Prma A series Chairs are Ryal Infectin Cntrl (Surface Asepsis): Using paper twels dampened with water clean the fllwing surfaces: (place paper twels under running water in sink t dampen, be sure paper twels are wet enugh but nt dripping with water) All areas f cabinetry (including sides, tps, back, drawer handles, etc.) All vinyl n clinician chair Schl Name Page 4 f 9

5 All vinyl n patient chair (including plastic cver fr ft area) If vinyl needs t be spt cleaned fr a hard t clean stain, then a premixed slutin f Ivry sap and water in a spray bttle may be used. After cleaning with the slutin, the sap film must be wiped ff with water. If Ivry sap and water des nt remve the stain alert the Academic Supprt Technician. Retrieve Birex disinfectant wipes frm unit cabinet then clean the fllwing surfaces, thrwing away ften: light handles, switch, and arm (d nt wipe light shield it will clud the plastic) bracket tray, including arm air/water syringe, handpiece cnnectrs, suctin cnnectrs, hlders, and hses cuntertps sink rim, sap pump and faucet handle clinician s chair lever utside f persnal strage cntainer, if using separate cntainer crd bx at the ft f the patient chair any ther surfaces that need cleaned Repeat the abve Birex cleaning step t disinfect all surfaces listed abve. Allw treated surfaces t sak fr 2 minutes t achieve disinfectin befre placing supplies fr unit set-up. Use bihazard sticker nly as needed accrding t OSHA guidelines fr cntaminated waste. Dental Unit Water System Distilled water nly must be used in the unit water bttle. The bttle hlds enugh water fr a nrmal day s use. Heavy users may require a refill during prcedures. The bttle simply unscrews cunterclckwise fr refilling. Use cautin when filling bttle as t nt verfill the bttle because it will leak all ver the flr. Return the bttle and replace turning clckwise until screwed n tight. NOTE: There is an O-ring/washer that must be seated all the way up int the bttle munt. If the O-ring/washer is nt seated prperly then the water will nt flw thrugh the dental unit fr the air/water syringe r handpiece cnnectrs. Use cautin when remving and replacing bttles as t nt lse r thrw away the O- ring/washer. A. Hazardus Waste Dispsal (exam-type specific): 1.
