You will support the Assistant Manager in delivering and driving our core gym and studio products, such as Gym Inductions, 121 Consultations, Programme Reviews, Fitness Assessments and Personal Training. The ability or future commitment to deliver group exercise and small group training would be very desirable in this job role. Skills and qualities required: You will have a minimum of a Reps Level 2 qualification, which includes circuit training, but more importantly you'll have the expertise, personal charisma and confidence necessary to be an inspiration to others. You'll be a team player, who always does the right thing and you'll always give excellent member focus. High standards of personal presentation and a willingness to place customers first in order to provide a first class service to centre users are essential requirements for the post. 3 Role Profile Post: Fitness Instructor Grade: SCP Hours: Base: 37 hours per week Selby Leisure Centre Job Purpose To support the Assistant Manager in delivering and driving our core gym and studio products, such as gym inductions, one to one consultations, programme reviews, fitness assessments and personal training. To ensure that the fitness area and environment are of a safe standard and be responsible for the day to day operations through the effective use of resources and compliance with operational procedures. Main uties and Responsibilities 1. To have a sound understanding of the safe use of all equipment in the Fitness Suite. 2. To ensure that all persons using the fitness equipment receives instructions in the safe use of the equipment. 3. To advise and provide customers with appropriate training programmes. 4. To provide, after training, a competent Fitness Testing Service and to ensure that all customers using the Fitness Suite undergo a Fitness Test before using the equipment. 5. To positively assist with the marketing initiatives implemented for the Fitness Suite to ensure that the annual attendance level targets are achieved. 6. To assist with the development and operation of fitness initiatives within the Centre and within the specified outreach area of the Centre. 7. To ensure that all equipment in the Fitness Suite is maintained to the specified standard. 8. To ensure that the area and equipment is maintained to specified level of cleanliness and hygiene. 9. To ensure that all persons using the Fitness Suite are in possession of a valid receipt, fitness induction card and, if relevant, Fitness Pass. 10. Safety and control of customers in accordance with the Code of Conduct and other relevant guidelines, policies and procedures as provided, to prevent injury, misuse and damage to facilities in all areas. 11. To work in co-ordination with the Wellbeing Team to ensure the success of any Wellbeing Initiatives. 12. To attend meetings and training days relevant to Fitness facilities. The above requirements of the job are intended as a basic outline. There will be other tasks related to ensuring customer satisfaction and the care and safety of customers and Fitness Instructors will be expected to adopt a flexible and helpful approach. 2. All Fitness Instructors will be expected to ensure they remain in possession of valid qualification certificates issued by the appropriate Governing Body. 3. In addition to these responsibilities, Fitness Instructors will be expected to conform to the Codes of Conduct. 4. To undertake any other duties as and when required by Management that are commensurate with the grade and job title of the post.
