2 WHEREVER THE NEED IS GREATEST Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is an independent medical humanitarian movement that aims to deliver emergency medical care where it is needed most. We are independent, neutral and impartial. We are guided by medical ethics, and driven by the belief that every human being deserves access to medical care, regardless of race, religion or political affiliation. MSF works in nearly 70 countries around the world. We deliver emergency care to people affected by conflict and violence, epidemics and disease, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters.

3 OUR VALUES We are: Independent The majority of MSF s funding comes from our individual supporters around the world (5.7 million in 2015), rather than governments or institutions; this safeguards the independence of our decisions and actions on the ground. 5 THE YEAR OF GIVING IN THE UAE 2017 has been designated as 'The Year of Giving' by UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This initiative aims to encourage organisations and individuals alike to contribute what they can to 'make a difference' in the lives of others. As an independent medical-humanitarian movement, delivering lifesaving treatment where it's needed most, MSF is an ideal organisation for people to donate to during this Year of Giving.
