INTRODUCTION Welcome to the toolkit for the Online Child Sexual Abuse campaign, which will be rolled out as part of an integrated campaign commencing on 27th March We would like your support to help spread the campaign messages. This toolkit contains information which will assist, including: Information about the campaign Key messages Planned communications methods Campaign assets you can use Useful contacts.

3 THE CAMPAIGN THE TARGET The campaign will launch in March 2018 and will provide opportunities for partnership working and media/social media opportunities. AUDIENCE The campaign targets perpetrators and potential perpetrators of online child sexual abuse who are: Male THE AIM 18+ Living in Scotland. The campaign also targets all those who: This campaign aims to reduce online sexual abuse offending by challenging perpetrator behaviour and increasing engagement with third sector support. Undertake the grooming of children and young people online Possess and distribute indecent images of children Coerce or exploit children to share images Live stream online child sexual abuse.

4 KEY MESSAGES Messages for Perpetrators: There are severe consequences for anyone sexually abusing children online Perpetrator s actions have a long lasting impact, not only on victims, but also on their families and themselves. Bystander message: If you have information about someone who is sexually abusing children online then report it. Call to action: contact 101 or CEOP to report and listed partners for support Call to action: contact stopitnow.org.uk/scotland Messages for children and young people: We encourage children to keep a healthy scepticism when talking to strangers online All children and young people should have the confidence to enjoy the benefits of social media and know who to talk to if they feel threatened or are being asked things that are inappropriate. The internet does not provide anonymity - there is no hiding place. We are urging people to seek support to prevent their offending behaviour before it s too late.. We are committed to tackling online child sexual abuse and taking action to identify and apprehend those who pose a threat to our children. We work with partner organisations to ensure there are pathways to prevention programmes and would urge people to seek support to prevent their offending behaviour.
