1 FURUTEC CSR for Penang Flood 6 8 November 2017 During the 1 st week November 2017, residents in Penang, Kedah and Perak had a rude awakening. Unprecedented heavy rain-fall that lasted for 15 hours caused water levels to rise as much as 10ft to 12ft in certain parts of Penang. Again, Furutec Electrical in Penang took the lead in demonstrating their CSR initiative. They mobilized a team to help in cleaning up schools and houses and they also work along-side with Tzu Chi (Penang chapter) organization. It was indeed a great team effort comprising of Malaysian, Nepalese and Myanmarese all working together. They all work tirelessly for 3 days from 6 8 Nov at the following places: SRJK KEOW KUANG (Bukit Mertajam) SMJK JIT SIN (Taman Sri Rampai) Taman Seri Murni (Sungai Dua) Colleague house: Tan Kiah Hoe (Sungai Dua) SRJK Kai Chee (Sungai Dua) Taman Sri Rambai (Bukit Mertajam) Ex-colleague house (Taman Sri Rampai) Various house (Juru) Below some staff sharing their feelings and thoughts: Heng Soo Wah (Malaysian) I feel that this is really a meaningful task to help the flood citizen. Although this is my first time to participate in this flood recovery mission and tired after working the whole day, I was happy & satisfied to contribute my manpower in cleaning the area. Moreover, I can see that the hour of need shows the friend indeed when people from different races helping each other. In my personal thought, a company can play their role to develop this spirit among their staffs in helping the society with a manageable Corporate Social Responsibility program.

2 Raj Kumar Rav Yadav (Nepalese) I felt sad for the flood victims during my presence at the flood area. It made me think of my home which also encountered flood incident during Sep I am very happy to help them. I willing to help again in future if my help is needed. Mohammad Amir Anaqi Bin Mohd Salleh (Malaysian) It has been new experience for me. It mdke me more understand the feeling of the flood victims. The incident really made everyone unite together without race and religion differences. It also promoted unity between Furutec staff during the activity. Mohd. Razman Bin Pati Khan (Malaysian) Feeling sympathy to all the flood victims. It made me contribute my full strength in helping them and support them to clean their homeland. The satisfaction feeling of helping them overcame the tiredness. Mani Raj Sapkota (Nepalese) I felt happy in helping the flood victims. I will do it again if needed in future. Shahul Hamid Bin Abdullah (Malaysian) Great to see everybody helping the flood victims without consider the race and religion factor. Need to pay attention to the public place after the disaster as this is the place without support. My deepest sympathy to the flood victims and their lost. Htin Aung (Myanmarese) I am very happy to help those that need it. I felt sad for the flood victims for the property damage that caused by the flood incident. 3 From the flood incident, people is helping flood victim without consider the race differences. It made us feel again the warmest side of the humankind during the difficult situation. I am very satisfied with what I contributed in helping the flood victims. Muhammad Hanafi Bin Hasshim (Malaysian) I felt very happy to help the flood victims. It promote team spirit among people during the process. I personally can feel the pain the felt by the flood victims. Muhammad Faiz Bin Ismail (Malaysian) My deepest sympathy to flood victims for their lost that encountered during the incident. It is tough job to clean the homeland after the flood. Finance also one of the concern for the flood victims. I am satisfied with what I doing in helping them. I also want to thanks flood victims for allow me to help them.
