The Trustees have planned several activities for Some of the confirmed dates and times are mentioned on the left. We will publicize the activities in future newsletters and post the information on the web site as it becomes available. If you have program topics or something of interest to members that you would like published, please contact Donna at or any other Trustee. Let s have another great year! 2 Page 2 The Support Network at Penn National has a new feature on its web site our very own online video. The Trustees wanted members and volunteers to share their experiences with SNaP and a video seemed like a great way to showcase those experiences. Jay Hunter and Donna Crissman interviewed several members and volunteers in the summer of The video taping was scheduled, filming began, edits were made, music was selected and the final production completed in December. The video begins with footage of the landscapes in and around Penn National set to music. A brief introduction about SNaP by Jay Hunter, President, sets the stage for members and volunteers to tell their stories. Walt Squillari put the video together and Marlene Squillari chose the music. We are excited to bring this video to the Penn National community and hope all residents will learn more about our organization and commit to joining and volunteering. We want to thank everyone involved with the making of this video, especially Michael Bishton, Irene Gusty, Walt Schneider, David and Susan Wells, and Maurice Mills for their participation, and Walt and Marlene Squillari for their time and talent in the production of the video. Thank you also to Gary Dickinson and White Rock, Inc. for the beautiful landscape photos. Volunteers The Heart of SNaP Volunteers are the heart of the Support Network at Penn National. They give their time and talent freely and respond to every request. SNaP could not exist without them. Thank you to all our volunteers; you make a difference in the lives of others. Help others by becoming a volunteer today. Some future volunteer may do the same for you. SNaP can always use additional drivers, especially during the summer when many are out on the golf course or during the winter months when many head for the sun. If you wish to become a volunteer, fill out the Volunteer Interest Form on the SNaP website at Click on the Volunteers tab and select the Volunteer Interest Form. Click on the Submit button when finished. You should get a call from the executive director when the form is received.

4 Page 4 Dick Kiel Turns 90 Donald Weber, Dick Kiel, and Donna Crissman On January 2, Past SNaP President Dick Kiel turned 90. His wife Bonnie, family, and friends honored him at a wonderful dinner at Hickory Bridge Farm on January 12. Dick received his MBA from the University of North Carolina in He served 27 years in the United States Army, retiring in 1973 as a Lt. Colonel in the Medical Service Corps. The next 25 years were spent in positions managing health care for convicted offenders, including as Director of Health Services for the North Carolina Prison System, the Maryland Department of Corrections and 10 years providing services as a private contractor to facilities of the Federal Prison System, Juvenile Justice System, a number of State and County Departments of Corrections, and the Immigration and Naturalization Services. Dick moved to Franklin County, Pennsylvania in 1995, where he engaged in community activities and became interested in the Aging in Place concept in Dick and Bonnie are charter members of the Support Network at Penn National (SNaP).. Dick was one of the founding fathers and served as vice president and later became the second president of SNaP. He also served as a Trustee and advisor for many years.. Dick and Bonnie continue to support SNaP through their membership and contributions.
