LOYALTY FOR THE PURPLE AND THE GOLD A Guide to Impacting Your Sisters in Delta Phi Epsilon
YOU FUEL OUR LEADERSHIP LABORATORY Kelsey is a collegian going through recruitment her high GPA and past involvement makes her the kind of woman DPhiE would be proud to have as a sister. DPhiE piqued her interest with how many scholarships the Educational Foundation offers. She is also impressed with the leadership development opportunities we offer within the chapter and at Engage U (regional leadership forum). Kelsey imagines herself networking with diverse sisters from across the continent at an international leadership summit during our Convention. With the support from the Educational Foundation, her choice is easy. She feels most connected to DPhiE. Kelsey chose Delta Phi Epsilon because sisters like you give to the Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation (EF). Through cutting edge and supportive programming and events, the EF fosters an engaging leadership incubator for the dynamic woman we call sisters. In addition, more than $50,000 is awarded to our smart and dedicated sisters, annually. The Educational Foundation provides scholarships and grants that include critical support for leadership programming and our beloved philanthropies. The opportunities we offer our Delta Phi Epsilon sisters and potential members are possible because of your continued financial support. Through your generosity, we are consistently able to attract compassionate, dedicated leaders and global-minded thinkers to our sisterhood, helping us grow our network. Our new giving opportunities are dedicated to providing a sense of sisterhood, strengthening the bond to your chapter and ensuring you will always be part of the future of Delta Phi Epsilon. 2 Thank you for your loyalty to the purple and the gold.
GIVING LEVELS Introducing the new Giving Societies and Loyalty Chapter Program. As the Educational Foundation has grown through your support, we want to celebrate you, our donors, during our Centennial celebration and beyond. These new societies and programs offer you a way to remain consistently involved, receive current information about the impact of your generosity and support your chapter directly. FOR COLLEGIANS FOR ALUMNAE AND FRIENDS MINNA MAHLER COLLEGIATE CLUB IDA LANDAU SUSTAINER S SOCIETY GREATEST IMPACT TO YOUR CHAPTER LOY A LT Y C H A P T E R P R O G R A M Just like many of your other favorite charities, the Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation is designated a 501(c)(3) charitable organization by the IRS. Gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law. 3
MINNA MAHLER COLLEGIATE CLUB This seed of enlightened understanding is implanted in our formative years at school and it grows and fl ourishes in sorority relationship. Minna na Goldsmith Mahler, Past International President Minna was the ultimate leader. She helped write the original sorority constitution and, fi ttingly, went on to become the sorority s fi rst International President. Minna made doing the right thing (or Justice) her life s work. She served on the United Nation s Human Rights Committee, and as a UN observer, worked tirelessly to bring about world peace and justice for those in need. Minna believed that the Sorority was a leadership incubator, a place where women practice their leadership skills before going on to make a difference ence in the world. When you join the Minna Mahler Club, you honor Minna s legacy of justice and leadership by supporting your sisters. Join Today: Collegiate members who personally donate* $25 per year for 4 years (or reach $100 in personal giving) become e members of the Minna Mahler Club. To Thank You: Donors are presented with the Minna Mahler pin. You will be recognized in the online TRIAD and at the biennial Convention ntion for your generous support. *Chapter donations on your behalf are not eligible 4
IDA LANDAU SUSTAINER S SOCIETY FOR ALUMNAE AND FRIENDS Our Founder, Ida Landau was a woman of action. When she married her husband, who was not a U.S. national, the law of the time stated that she had to forfeit her own U.S. citizenship. Ida immediately petitioned Congress bringing attention to the injustice, and leading to the passage of the Cable Act, that ensured women could marry whomever they wanted without losing their citizenship. Her legacy of action continued when she worked as a war correspondent during WWII and also assisted with relocating Jewish refugees. For Ida, helping others was second nature. As a donor to the Educational Foundation, you are just like Ida, making a difference for others. Be Like Ida: The Ida Landau Sustainer s Society recognizes major annual donors to the Educational Foundation. Alumnae who graduated more than 15 years ago and friends of the Educational Foundation who contribute $1,000 or more each year become members of the Ida Landau Society. Alumnae who graduated within the previous 14 years become a member of the ILS with a $500 annual gift. To Thank You: You will receive the Ida Landau Sustainer s Society recognition pin and will receive exclusive communication with Sorority news. Ida Landau Sustainer s Society members will be recognized in the TRIAD and Educational Foundation publications as well as at International Convention and alumnae events. 5
LOYALTY CHAPTER PROGRAM SHOW YOUR LOYALTY TO YOUR CHAPTER The moment you accepted your bid to Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority, you pledged yourself to a lifetime of sisterhood. Whether you related to our motto, Esse Quam Videri to be rather than to seem to be, connected with sister or shared the values of Justice, Sisterhood and Love there was a reason why you pledged yourself to Delta Phi Epsilon. Local chapters are where our leaders are built, learn to negotiate relationships, plan strategically and achieve goals that chart the course of their future. With your support and loyalty, you can give back to your chapter that has shaped you into the woman you are today. Your unrestricted and tax-deductible gift to the Educational Foundation through the Loyalty Chapter Program will support in-person leadership development and academic scholarships while providing your chapter with enhanced benefi ts from the Educational Foundation. Our chapters need innovative and empowered leaders to grow stronger. Give the gift of sisterhood today to the leaders of tomorrow. 6
