3 Smile Train The Smile Train is an international charity dedicated to helping the millions of children in the world who suffer from cleft lip and palate through free surgery for children. It also provides free training for doctors and research to find a cure. 170,000 children are born every year with cleft palate Cost of a 45 minute surgery is $ countries served 100 % of donations goes to surgeries 0% goes to overhead

8 Mother Theresa of Calcutta Center On October 7, 1950, Mother Teresa received permission from the Holy See to start her own order, "The Missionaries of Charity", whose primary task was to love and care for those persons nobody was prepared to look after. In 1965 the Society became an International Religious Family by a decree of Pope Paul VI. The Missionaries of Charity continue to comfort the poorest of the poor.

9 Catholic Relief Services International project started in 1943 which responds to emergencies around the world Provides food, medical supplies and religious assistance to the people in the poorest parts of the world in over 100 countries

10 Tutwiler Clinic Operates under the direction of Sister-Doctor Anne Brooks Serves the poorest of the poor in the Bayou country Allows medical help to those who do not have the ability to seek or pay for services Runs totally from donations Sells quilting items in an attempt to become selfsufficient. Donations needed: Medical supplies/samples Over the counter medications Clothes Quilting and sewing supplies

11 Apostleship of the Sea Port Ministry was conceived in 1920 Goal is to provide spiritual, physical, and psychological services to seamen at port locations in the United States Donations of toiletries are needed to place on board ships while in ports

12 Project Handclasp An official Navy overseas people-to-people program adopted in 1974 Donated materials are transported overseas via Navy ships.

13 Misericordia Operated by the Sisters of Mercy in Chicago Offers a community of care that maximizes potential for over 600 children and adults from diverse racial, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds All of the residents have developmental disabilities, and many are also physically challenged 20% of their residents come from poverty families or have no families and are wards of the State You can help is by purchasing their memorial cards on their website -

15 The Disaster Relief Fund The Catholic Daughters maintain a Disaster Fund to which our members contribute. At the request of the State Regent where a disaster occurs, monetary assistance is forwarded to the Bishop of that diocese for distribution.
