Each Mind Matters, California's Mental Health Movement, developed a toolkit to help conduct Mental Health Awareness Month activities locally. 3 FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES American College Health Association (ACHA) Foundation Invites Applications for Aetna Student Health Award Deadline: January 31, 2015 California Community Colleges Veterans Summit December 4-5, 2014 ~ San Jose, CA The California Community Colleges Veterans Summit brings together professionals from community colleges and four-year public universities to share strategies and best practices to better serve our veteran students. Now entering its fourth year, the Summit offers professionals the necessary tools to better understand the needs of student veterans and support services for their successful transition to higher education and careers. Who should attend? California community college counselors, deans, administrators, trustees, faculty members and statewide leaders are invited to attend. Invitations have also been extended to representatives from the California State University and University of California systems to build a community of support for veterans as they continue to pursue their educational goals. Grants of $5,000 will be awarded to support the creation of novel wellness solutions and programs that address issues specifically related to the retention and overall well-being of college students... The California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA) is an organization of county governments working to improve mental health outcomes for individuals, families and communities. Prevention and Early Intervention programs implemented by CalMHSA are funded through the voter-approved Mental Health Services Act (Prop 63). Prop. 63 provides the funding and framework needed to expand mental health services to previously underserved populations and all of California's diverse communities.
