2 What the Service Users of Purple House Say: Purple House Cancer Support offered us A Place to Talk, A Place to Cry, A Place to Laugh, A Place to Relax, But most importantly. A Place to Hope Dylan Lynch, aged 14. Men sometimes need to access support outside their family. Our men s group project is here to support them Peter Guerin. Well the second the music starts and everyone starts to sing you absolutely forget about everything about life outside, all you think about is the music and the songs that you are singing, it is so much better than any medication Marie Flynn Purple House Cancer Support

9 Meet Your Leaders Danny McDermott: Danny McDermott is an experienced cyclist and touring guide, having completed numerous challenges including cycling from Bray to Istanbul for Purple House. In his day job, Danny is a tour guide for Irish Cycling Safaris. Danny says: The reason I support Purple House is that I believe the job they do is invaluable to the people who they are helping deal with cancer, and the support they offer is so important to families. I can't imagine how some families would get by without them. I try to do something every year to support the charity in the best way I know how. Cycling. It's something most people can do and with the gang of people who will take up this challenge, it will make a Big difference for the people who use Purple House Cathal Miller: Cathal Miller has represented Ireland at both Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Paralympic games in both Track and Road cycling. His sporting career started early when he played rugby for St Paul's college and Clontarf RC. Cathal has cycled in World cups across the globe and has a wealth of knowledge in cycling and fitness.he is currently at the helm of the very successful Clontarf Cycling Club and coach to the Irish Paralympic development squad He still competes in the IVCA races.
10 Fundraising & Sponsorship When I had my cancer diagnosis & treatment, Purple House was my calm in the storm, my place I could go and be looked after where people understood the road I was on & supported me throughout By taking part in the Purple House Four Peaks Cycle, you can help us to make a real difference to the lives of families affected by Cancer. To ensure that all funds raised go directly to families affected by Cancer, we would appreciate it if all person costs and accommodation costs are paid directly by each participant outside of any fundraising & sponsorship raised. We will support you in reaching your fundraising goal of 2,000 per person, you can set up an online fundraising page at We can also send you a sponsorship card as well. I don t really feel comfortable talking about Cancer to my friends. Purple House gives me a place to talk, deal with it & cope. It s nice to have that safe space to do it Hannah, Aged 14 (Dad passed away from Cancer)
