1 Registration and Fundraising Guide Thank you for signing up for the Walk for the Animals! We can t wait to have you join us Saturday, May 19 th, from 10 a.m. 1 p.m. to help the homeless and neglected animals of Durham County. Our goal is to raise $80,000 and with your fundraising efforts, we will! This guide will help you navigate your online fundraising profile, and offer a few fundraising tips and ideas, too. Check out page 8 for our top fundraising prizes. Now that you have registered as an individual or member of a team, what s next? You can upload a photo to be used for your individual account. Just hover your mouse over the large circle and upload your favorite.

2 Personalize your fundraising page. Tell everyone why you are walking for APS. Share a story of how you got involved with APS. Or share photos of your own pet. Click on the settings button beside My fundraising page to customize your message. You can customize your fundraising goal (thermometer on right), and anything else on your page, by clicking on the settings button.

3 Click on My Fundraising Tools in green at the top right of your screen. You will be directed to your fundraising dashboard, and will find more resources and ways to share your fundraising page with friends. You can also customize your fundraising page URL from this main page. Teams: click on Our Team at the bottom of your left-hand menu to manage your team and view team members.

4 Share the event! You can send s directly from your Walk profile, and also share on Facebook and Twitter. Just click on the appropriate tabs and share away!

5 Click on Resources to find downloadable Walk logos, graphics and photos to include in your s. You can download them directly from the website and save them to use in social media posts, as well. There are photos of dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits and guinea pigs to choose from. Have fun with it! There s also a picture of our Top Individual Fundraiser prize a Newport step-through electric bicycle.

6 At the bottom of the screen, you will see Complete Your Profile. The website tracks your profile progress. Once you have completed your profile you will be awarded a badge. There are badges you can earn once you reach certain fundraising milestones. You can share your badges on social media, too, to brag to your friends and family when you meet certain goals.

7 If you receive any cash or check donations and want to add them to your fundraising total, click on My Donations and enter them online. They will be considered Offline Unverified until APS receives the cash or check donation, but will still be added to your fundraising thermometer.

8 TOP FUNDRAISING PRIZES The top three individual fundraisers, top Team and Vets In Action teams will be generously rewarded for their fundraising efforts! Each top fundraiser and top team will also receive a trophy. *** Be a Fundraising VIP Anyone who raises $500+ will receive a VIP lanyard and access to our VIP tent catered by Zaxby s of Roxboro Road! Anyone who raises $150+ will receive their choice of a portable water container or batteryoperated fan with light! Our top individual fundraiser will receive a Newport step-through electric bicycle, valued at $1,800. (If you are fundraising as part of a team, you can still win a top individual fundraiser prize.)

9 Our second highest fundraiser will receive two passes to Goat Yoga at Hux Family Farm, a one-year membership to Zoomy Dogs, and a large dog bed. The Zoomy Dogs Membership includes: Unlimited use of walking track and resource library 50% off swim time and self-service grooming Up to 40% off retail purchases 10% off classes and seminars Private events for members only & discount of facility rentals Hux Family Farm: Zoomy Dogs:

10 Our third best fundraiser will receive two passes to Goat Meditation at Hux Family Farm, a family photo shoot by Alycat Photo & Video Services, and a large dog bed. Alycat Photo & Video Services Top Fundraising Team will receive a trip to Augmentality Labs a virtual reality arcade in Durham, where you can experience VR in groups or individually, playing paintball, slaying ogres, or participating in a regatta with your team. The possibilities are endless! Augmentality Labs

11 Top Youth Team will receive an afternoon at Hux Family Farm for their Farm Animal Play Day. There are so many things to do on the farm! Hang out with goats, sheep, ducks and geese, visit the horses, go on a farm scavenger hunt, or brush rabbits and collect their fur to be spun into yarn. The Top Youth Team Lead will also receive four passes to Sky Zone of Durham. Sky Zone Durham - Top Vets in Action team will receive a trip (up to 14 people) to Bull City Escape. Bull City Escape is an exhilarating, interactive experience designed to test your wits. The premise is simple: small groups are locked in a room and have 60 minutes to escape. To find the key, you must work together to unearth clues, solve puzzles, and crack codes. Bull City Escape
