26 Incorporate SAR s Like humans, plants have an immune system that protects them from disease. This process in plants is called Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR). This immune system can be activated to produce a range of defensive compounds that protect the plant from disease. There are compounds which trigger the SAR response: Phosphorous Acid, Seaweed Extracts, Chitosan, Fermintation Products, Humic Acid, Salicylic Acid

29 What does the term Dual Phos mean? Both Phosphates(PO4) and phosphites(po3) are used in the formulation, and guaranteed as total P2O5. The differences between PO3 and PO4 Phosphites initiate a systemic SAR response and are recognized as fungicides. Phosphates are utilized as plant food. Their combination is synergistic. Why does Griffin use PO3 in some of their mixes? SAR effect, better flower set, more consistent crop size, improved root health, etc. How much should growers be applying?
