2 2018 ABOUT THE COURSE The programme for this meeting will cover the latest update on different techniques used for treatment of instability in children and adults, as well as the management of the early arthritic PFJ. An additional feature this year is the introduction of cadaveric demonstration on the different ways of reconstructing the MPFL,TT transfer and trochleoplasty. Thursday 1st & Friday 2nd November Scarman Conference Centre, Coventry The first day is dedicated to problems of instability in children, while the second day will focus on instability of the patella and degeneration of the patellofemoral joint in adults. A special emphasis this year is on cartilage restoration. The delegates will learn through lectures, workshops and clinical case discussions delivered by world experts in the field. Saturday 3rd November, Cadaveric day - WMSTC (Limited to 16 places ) For the first time in Europe a dedicated cadaveric hands-on course to practice surgical techniques related to PFJ surgery. There is a special emphasis on how to perform a trochleoplasty. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons and Orthopaedic Surgeons with a specialist interest in knee problems who wish to gain from the experience of some of the pioneers in this field. Specialist Registrars wanting to gain further knowledge in dealing with a very common yet difficult problem of the knee. Physiotherapists who are interested in patellofemoral joint problems. SOCIAL OPPORTUNITY Discussion and debate is a key part of any course, that s why there will be an opportunity for delegates and faculty to network over an informal dinner on Friday evening. CLINICAL CASE DISCUSSIONS A key element to the meeting will be these case discussions. Both the faculty and delegates will be presented with a wide variety of clinical cases. The panel will then discuss the treatment options based on their surgical experience and expertise and then open the floor to debate and discussion you can be sure of a wide variety of views on outcomes, procedures, complications and other issues relating to the knee. THE VENUE Scarman Conference Centre (part of the University of Warwick Conference Group) is a purpose-built conference centre located just outside of Coventry. There is en-suite accommodation on-site and free parking. West Midlands Surgical Training Centre Is a state of the art surgical training centre, located at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust, offering a comprehensive simulation of real operating environments.
