The purpose of this research is to understand the effects that journalists job stress factors have on physical. The subjects were journalists in the central region who conducted questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted suing the SPSS Win and it was verified at significance level 5%. Results of the study revealed the inter-department task cooperation had positive effects on physical. The implication of this research is expected to be used as data for the improvement of physical of journalists. 1 Introduction The press serves the role of delivering new information quickly, accurately, and consistently. In the role performance of the press, journalists must increase the qualitative of the information and focus on competition with other media. Besides the outside factors, there are inside factors of importance level of news, conflicts on the coverage range among departments, and the stress for the deadlines. Conflicts among departments always occur when information is left out or if wrongful information is reported. According to the press industry statistics released by the Korea Press Foundation, there were around 4,000 press companies registered in Korea at the end of 2012 and 25,554 journalists who work at each press companies. Looking at the types of media, newspaper 15,041 (1,324 companies) showed to be highest in number and then broadcast 3,096 (53 companies), internet media 7,417 (1,669 companies) followed. This was a 4% increase for newspaper, 15% for internet media, and 7.8% on overall media increase from [1] The reason why the growth of internet media was more significant is because of the government s press foundation requirements softening and other overall press policies. 1.1 The need for research Due to the job characteristics of journalists, they are always fighting time which leads to physical and emotionally exhaustion. Such work lowers job satisfaction of journalists and bring negative effects on maintaining and improving work efficiency. 2 direct, indirect effects on physical illnesses, it could cause depression if it is continued long-term. Physical and emotional instability could lead to negative mental state. This is why prolonged and repeated job stress could make normal physical activities impossible. [2] However, previous researches on journalists were centered on the roles of journalists, responsibility of the press, and their own functions. There is almost no systematic research on the physical and emotional exhaustion due to task performance. In Korea, research related to the health of journalists was conducted in 2003 where it proposed that appropriate exercise programs were needed for the journalists because exercising brings positive effects to stress relief and mental health improvement [3] and improvement and worsening prevention through health improvement programs [4]. However, such research simply measured effects of exercise [2-9]. Although press organizations and Korea Press Association conducted research on the health status of journalists, they were limited to fragmentary research asking exercise amount and health status. Therefore, this research seeks to understand the effects that journalists job stress factors have on physical. 1.2 Research Hypothesis The specific research hypothesis of this research paper is as following. What are socio-demographical characteristics of journalists? Second, journalists job stress factors affect physical. 1.3 Research Model Structure equation model analysis was conducted for research model and hypothesis verification in order to look into the relationships among job stress factors and physical. 2 Study methods 2.1 Test Subjects The test subjects of this study were journalists residing in the central region. 2.2 Research Tools The research tools for the socio-demographical characteristics used edited questionnaires of the local social health survey. First, the age groups were separated into 20 s, 30 s, 40 s, and 50 s and religion into Christianity and Buddhism. 3 head; years of employment into over 5, over 10, and over 20; affiliated department into politics, economics, and social. Third, exercise period was divided into less than 30 minutes daily, over 1 hour daily, and every other day. 2.3 Physical Condition Criterion The physical condition criterion used edited questionnaires of local social healthy survey [6]. The factors were divided into 5 categories of insomnia, cardiovascular disorder, and other 5 categories. 2.4 Handling and Analysis of Data The actual proof analysis of the data collected was verified at 5% significance level, SPSS WIN 18.0 was used for statistics. 3 Results of Hypothesis Verification 3.1 Demographic characteristics of the study subjects Table is the result of the analysis that the job stress factors such as overload, interdepartment work cooperation have on physical condition Table 1. 4 effects of qualitative role increase was shown to be 0.173(t=3.278, p<0.05). Consequently, it supported the hypothesis that the increase of qualitative role would have positive effects on physical. The standardization path coefficient of the research hypothesis that predicted that role conflict will have positive effect on physical condition was shown to be 0.324(t=5.441, p<0.05), supported the hypothesis. However, for the hypothesis that predicted that career management will have a positive effect on physical showed its standardization path coefficient to be 0.04, showing no significant effect. Also, the standardization path coefficient for the hypothesis that predicted positive effects of qualitative role stress on physical was shown to be 0.384(t=8.223, p<0.05). Consequently, it supported the hypothesis that the qualitative role stress would have positive effects on physical. Finally, the standardization path coefficient that predicted inter-department work cooperation would have positive effects on physical was shown to be 0.313(t=5.707, p<0.05). Consequently, it supported the hypothesis that inter-department work cooperation would have a positive effect on physical. 4 Discussion and Conclusion This research studied the effects that the job stress factors of journalists in the central region on physical. Discussing the specifics of the hypothesis is as follows. First, after examining the relationship between job stress and physical, it was shown that quantitative role overload, role conflict, qualitative role stress, inter-department work cooperation were related. Such result matched the research result [7] that continuous and long-term work overload could bring negative effects on health. It also matched the research result [8, 9] that job stress not only effects health but also musculoskeletal effects, depression, and life. Such results showed the necessity for various measures to efficiently distribute and control the tasks of journalists. There needs to be follow-up research for the health improvement program introduction that could protect the health of journalists while they fulfill their duties. References 1.
