For questions about CME, call About the Heart and Vascular Program at Sharp Grossmont Hospital Recognized nationally, Sharp Grossmont Hospital s heart and vascular program is guided and staffed by a fully integrated team of boardcertified physicians across several specialties, including vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional cardiology and interventional radiology. It has received gold and silver recognition by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association s Get With The Guidelines program for exceeding performance measures in treating patients with cardiovascular disease. Sharp Grossmont further demonstrates its commitment to excellence in patient care with the completion of its new Burr Heart & Vascular Center the only dedicated cardiovascular center in East San Diego County. The 60,000-square-foot facility houses four cardiac catheterization labs, an endovascular hybrid suite, a cardiothoracic surgery suite and two operating rooms. This dramatically increases the hospital s capacity for performing advanced procedures and treating complex heart and vascular diseases and conditions. In addition, Sharp Grossmont is equipped with both a vascular and echocardiography lab, which are accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission. The hospital also participates in the Vascular Quality Initiative of the Society of Vascular Surgery, a program designed to improve vascular health care through the analysis of standardized clinical data.
