2 Varanasi preventive health screenings Date: Ongoing since 2 nd April 2016 Place: Varanasi Activity: Screening for Diabetes, Hypertension and Hypercholesterolemia under the NPCDCS (National Program for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular disease and Stroke) Opportunistic screening in Varanasi district for one lakh population, aged >30 years for Blood sugar (R) and S. Cholesterol along with BMI and B.P evaluation Generating awareness about the importance of prevention, educating on importance of early detection, health promotion through advisory on lifestyle changes 3 year MOU done with the State program management unit (SPMU) of UP National rural health mission and Industry partner - Indus Health Pvt. Ltd., and Dr. Lal Path Labs Welfare trust for screening at CHC level in district of Varanasi, Etawah and Kannauj Reach: Over patients have been screened so far at seven CHCs

4 Indus Scholarships for Students Date: 2 nd November 2016 Places: All over India Activity: Every year since 2010, Indus grants scholarships to its 85,000+ volunteer s children The scholarships are given on merit to the first three students from each class of 1 st to 12 th standard Students from any part of India, where Indus Health Plus s volunteers work are eligible for the scholarship Students studying in premier school or municipality school, studying in any medium be it English or any regional language can avail this benefit Maximum amount given to a student is Rs. 50,000/- Reach: Yearly granted scholarships On an average 35 students per year Total number of students received scholarship Applications Received 500 on average per year

6 World Cancer Day Cancer talk Date: 4 th February 2017 Places: Pune and Mumbai colleges and schools Activity: Indus Health Plus conducted a unique initiative to educate youth about cancer and spread the importance of lifestyle modification in fighting the risk factors of cancer through Doctor s Talk The aim was to improve early diagnosis through raising awareness of the warning signs and asymptomatic symptoms of cancer in teenagers and young adults. Famous Oncologists and Gynecologists from Indus affiliated hospitals educated students on ill-effects of cancer, since young children imitate and fall prey to these bad habits Reach: Over 1000 college going and school going students were educated in the age group of years in a span of four days

8 International Women s Day - Free health checkup activity Date: 8 th March 2017 Places: Mumbai Activity: Indus Health Plus conducted free preventive health check-up for female students of SNDT college of Arts, Science and Commerce, Marine Lines, to celebrate the spirit of womanhood The objective of this initiative was to create awareness in women to reduce the risk of lifestyle diseases by emphasizing on the importance of preventive health check-up as they are the integral part of the family and society The check- up included general examination of BMI, weight, BP, Pulse, Temperature, Pallor, Gynecology history and random Blood sugar Reach: Around 120 female students came for the checkup

10 World Hypertension Day Free Checkup Activity for corporate clients Date: 17 th May 2017 Places: Mumbai and Bangalore Activity: Professionals whether young or old, both are prone to many life-threatening diseases all because of the sedentary lifestyles they lead and hypertension is amongst the highest In cognizance of the above, the following services were provided: Blood Pressure BMI Random Blood Sugar Doctor s Consultation Along with the free checkup activity, health talks and zumba/yoga sessions were also organised for the employees Reach: This year alone, 6 corporates and over 1200 employees were checked

12 World No Tobacco Day Mascot Activity Date: 31 st May 2017 Places: Nagpur and Aurangabad Theme: Tambaku ki lat galat, Samajhkar jiyo behtar Activity: Every year, Indus Health Plus sends a cigarette shaped mascot in tier II & III cities to create awareness of the ill-effects of consuming tobacco The mascot goes in and around the city, busy and prominent places and distributes leaflets urging people to quit tobacco This year, the mascot went to Nagpur and Aurangabad. In previous years, cities like Indore, Rajkot, Nashik, Kolhapur and Goa have been tapped Reach: This year alone, 800+ people were reached out in busy and crowded places such as markets, parks/gardens, restaurants, malls, schools/colleges, bus stops, etc. People from all walks of life and strata such as working professionals, students, labours, bus conductors, vendors, etc. have been tapped

14 World Environment Day Traffic Signal Activity Date: 5 th June 2017 Place: Pune Theme: No pollution, the best solution. Save environment should be our resolution Activity: At 6 prominent traffic signals, Indus employees stood holding the placards and banners with messages for the commuters When the signal turned red, whoever from the commuters switched off their ignition (meaning not causing air pollution), or didn t honk (meaning not causing noise pollution) were handed over IHP branded badges Participation: Over 90 employees and support staff participated Reach: More than 400 citizens were reached out and over 80 badges were distributed to the responsible citizens Print and electronic media covered the event. Facebook posts and engagement also received good response

16 Free health checkup activity - Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal Date: 29 th July and 5 th August 2017 Places: Pune and Mumbai Activity: Indus Health Plus conducted a free preventive health checkup activity for the members of Marathi film industry To educate members about the importance of early detection and timely checkup for healthy wellbeing, since people from this industry have irregular working timings A range of medical tests were included, from general examination to lab tests to PFT and eye checkup Reach: Over 250 members were screened; from popular actors to directors, producers, spot boys, junior artists, etc.
