2 DRAFT SUMMARY Municipal Maintenance Subcommittee Meeting Holbrook-Palmer Park Atherton Meeting Date: November 30, 2016 Subcommittee Actions: 1. Agreed that the summary of the September 2016 subcommittee meeting was acceptable. Requested Stormwater Committee Action or Feedback/Guidance (if any): None Other Information/Announcements: Vendor Presentation. Bryan Hofmann from Filtrexx provided information on their compost BMPs. Information on their products can be found at Caltrans has increased their use of compost BMPs. A presentation on their experience, observations and use of compost BMPs is available on the SMCWPPP Program website: %20Presentation_ pdf. Kristin will the Subcommittee the link to the Caltrans presentation. Kristin requested the Subcommittee members send her any suggestions for vendors to invite to future meetings. Open Forum Discussion on Maintenance Issues. o Kristin ed the Subcommittee a draft SMCWPPP trash full capture device O&M tracking template. The template is an Excel Workbook for tracking the MRP C.10.b.i trash full capture device maintenance and inspection data based on the SMCWPPP field form template with some calculated data for the Annual Report. No comments were received to-date. o The January 25 th Municipal Maintenance Subcommittee meeting will be a joint meeting with the Parks Maintenance and IPM Subcommittee. An agenda item will be to discuss a draft SMCWPPP pesticide tracking template for compliance with Provision C.9 requirements. o The group discussed new curb screens and small trash full capture devices being installed. o San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District staff asked the group about types of storm drain inlets that do not typically get flushed out by rain events (i.e., inlets where mosquito larvae are not flushed out). The District sprays all catch basins in identified hot spots in cities. Residents and municipal staff should call the District to spray if mosquitos are observed in storm drain inlets. The spray used will leave a sheen but it will dissipate in three to four days. o The group would like SMCWPPP to sponsor at least one training for Rural Roads BMPs. The MRP requires training rural public works maintenance staff at least twice during the five year Permit term. Kristin will submit a budget for training in FY17/18.
