You can pick them up at the office to distribute to your meetings, put one in your purse or wallet, or for that newcomer that needs your number to stay sober. Financials 7 Back page 8 Activities Committee Requests Your Input The Activities Committee would like your input on what the sobriety community would like to see in the form of different activities, venues, events and suggestions on what you would like to do at these gatherings. The regular events such as Bingo, Potlucks, Halloween and New Year s dances remain somewhat popular but the committee would like to gather input on what additional opportunities for fun and fellowship the community may like to see. The committee requests that you please take this cursory survey back to your home group, discuss the issues addressed in the first paragraph (and any additional topics that jump to your mind). Please write down your comments and return them to within the next 30 days. Papers can be put in the Activities box, just ask one of the office volunteers to put it there for you. Further, please know that the Activities committee is a great way to volunteer in service to the sobriety community and new volunteers are always welcomed. Please attend our meeting the first Sunday of every month at 5pm at the office.

Thus, there have been few barriers to finding a meeting when I travel. I just search for AA meetings wherever I am. I then take the meeting address and use my smartphone to map out where it is. There s often one close by. However, the barrier I do face is my own excuse-making. Whether I travel for work or leisure, I usually pack my visit full of activities, so it can be easy for me to make excuses: I don t have enough time; I am too tired; I ll go to a meeting when I get home. That s when I have to remind myself that getting to travel is a gift from AA. As a matter of fact, by going to a meeting out of town I can show others at the meetings I attend that you can travel, enjoy our trip and still get to a meeting! J.S. St. Petersburg, Fla.
