The chart above shows an increase in the percentage of mums smoking during pregnancy in the top five worst areas As you can see the top five areas in the Ards and north down area exceed the Trust areas and NI averages

13 Outcome 1 : Physically and Mentally Healthy Percentage Dental Registrations Aged 0-2years (2014) Portaferry Glen Cultra Whitespots Holywood Priory Ards North Down South Eastern Series Northern Ireland The top five areas in the North Down and Ards are all below the NI average, Outcomes Area average and Local Government District averages. The chart above shows a sharp decline in 0-2years dental registrations in the Holywood Priory from 39 in 2013 to 25 in Whitespots saw a decrease of 48% in 2012 to 25% in 2014.

Loughview area has experienced an increase in the percentage of young people with less than 85% school attendance since years and saw a rise in school attendance from 9.5 to 11 in 2014.
22 Outcome 3 : Enjoying, Learning and Achieving Percentage of Post primary Pupils with less than 85% attendance (2014) Scrabo Ballyrainey Whitehill Bangor Central (Ards) Ards North Down South Eastern Series Northern Ireland The percentage of post primary pupils with less than 85% school attendance has remained larger than the Northern Ireland and South Eastern averages for the last five years.

These trends have continued to increase since 2007/10 to present. (4 year trend)
26 Outcome 4 : Economic and Environmental Wellbeing Lone parents claiming income support The North Down area has experienced a sharp increase in lone parents claiming income support of which has exceeded the Northern Ireland average since The Ards area has saw an increasing percentage of lone parents claiming income support since 2012.
