1 PreventiveOncology Word Cancer itself creates havoc in mind. Best solution to minimize incidence for cancer is prevention. Preventive oncology is a tool for prevention of cancer. It comprises Diet- Lifestyle, Yoga, Pranayama, Panchakarma& Counselling.It also covers clinical and laboratory investigation for early detection of cancer & health education along with lifestyle modification. Ayurveda Preventive oncology has a unique approach of integrating Ayurveda with current research, involving medical and community practice with an emphasis on early detection, primary and secondary prevention of cancer. This program has been designed to provide comprehensive Ayurveda knowledge to society for cancer prevention. It also focus on research in cancer prevention for benefit and welfare of mankind.through preventive oncology we are undertaking research for the development of Ayurvedicpreventive and therapeutic approaches for prevention of cancer. Every individual is different in sense of immunity, disease fight mechanism, and tissue quality, physical, physiological &psychological attributes. Hence we use Ayurvedic concept of DoshaPrakriti analysis (Physical constitution), MaanasPrakriti analysis (Psycological constitution) &DhaatuSaarataa (Tissue quality assessment) to analyze every individual. We also use different Ayurvedic clinical examination techniques like Eightfold examination (AshtavidhaParikshaa), Tenfold examination (DashvidhaParikshaa), Threefold examination (TrividhaParikshaa) to understand heath status of an individual. We also study current diet & lifestyle habits of an individual. We have list of more than one thousand etiological/causative factors related to improper diet& lifestyle. Through critical assessment of diet & lifestyle habits of an individual we suggest appropriate healthy lifestyle modifications. Considering personalized needs, we at Rasayu developed scientific methods based on Ayurveda towards achieving health. 2 Diet Diet, Sleep and observance of celibacy (Brahmacharya) are three supports of life. Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism. It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism and excretion. Ayurveda Dietetics is unexplored goldmine. Life depends on food. It is the main source of vigour, complexion and Ojas. Ayurveda has given emphasis on person who is consuming food. It gives focus on quality parameters than quantitative. Our immunity depends upon healthy body constituents and equilibrium of Dosha. Generally individual who are highly obese, too slim, with mal nourished body constituents like bones, flesh and blood, those consuming unwholesome food and in less quantity, those with weak mental strength has less immunity. Process in counselling: 1. Exploring and identifying the concerns. 2. Understanding these concerns in relation to you, how you think and feel and your life history. 3.
