5 Symposium Great Success! The Institute of Gynecology, Inc., St. Petersburg, Florida, U.S.A. and the European Association of Cosmetic-Plastic Gynecology, Milan, Italy organized the 1 st International Symposium on Integrating Modern Cosmetic-Plastic Gynecology into Practice, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, U.SA. December 14-15, Prof. Adam Ostrzenski, M.D., Ph.D., Dr. Hab. was elected to serve as the President of the Symposium and Elena Fasola, M. D. was the Vice- President. The Local Organizing Committee was represented by Mark N. Scheinberg, M.D., Florida, U.S.A. Executive Chair and Troy R. Hailparn, M.D., Texas, U.S.A. Clinical Chair. The following countries attendees were present in the Symposium: India, Israel, Italy, Poland, Thailand, and the U.S.A. The active participants represented a variety of specialties: marketing, practice management, senior hospital and surgical center administrators, business, plasticcosmetic surgeons and gynecologists specializing in cosmetic-plastic gynecology. The symposium provided the forum for exchanging experiences in integrating modern cosmeticplastic gynecology into practice from the business prospective to adequate patient selections for appropriate non-deceptive and honest surgical interventions. Also, new discoveries in female genital anatomy and their role in developing new surgical techniques were presented. Additionally, video clips were offered. Following the symposium, there was a 3-day Advanced Cosmetic-Plastic Course and Workshop with hands-on and videos of anatomy and live OR Demonstration Day in which multiple surgical techniques in cosmetic-plastic gynecology were presented.

6 The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) and Cosmetic-Plastic Gynecology For the first time ever, the XX FIGO World Congress has organized scientific pro and con sessions in Cosmetic-Plastic Gynecology in Rome, Italy in October This historic session has an enormous impact on women s right to choose cosmetic-plastic gynecologic surgeries and on the availability of new scientifically based non-deceptive cosmetic-plastic gynecologic surgical interventions for physicians. The session was held October 8, There were over 1,200 attendees completely filling the designated auditorium capacity with some delegates standing along the walls and some sitting on the floor. The title of this session was Cosmetic-Plastic Gynecology and was chaired by the world renowned cosmetic-plastic surgeon Prof. Adam Ostrzenski, M.D., Ph.D., Dr. Hab. from Florida, U.S.A., whose recent publication on the discovery of anatomy of the G-spot was ranked number one scientific article in the world in Troy R. Hailparn, M.D. from Texas, U.S.A., presented Deceptive and Unethical Cosmetic Gynecologic Procedures and the Progress of the Non-Deceptive and Honest Cosmetic-Plastic Gynecologic Field confirmed the availability of new non-deceptive surgical interventions and that it is possible for physicians to practice Cosmetic-plastic gynecology (CPG) within the American Congress of Obstetrician and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommendations; Prof. Danilo Dodero, M.D., Ph.D. from Italy, lectured on New Classifications and Protocols for Cosmetic Gynecology and Combining General Cosmetic Surgery with Cosmetic Gynecology Procedures. This presentation offered women and practitioners the convenience of combining CPG with general cosmetic surgeries; Mark N. Scheinberg, M.D. from Florida, U.S.A. presented Labia Minora with or without Clitoral Hoodoplasty and Labia Majora: New Surgical Interventions which elaborated on the newest available surgical techniques for physicians to

7 learn and patients to be aware of; and Prof. Ostrzenski presented Vaginal Rejuvenation (VR) New Techniques and G-Spotplasty outlined his new concept of Wide/Smooth Vagina Classification based on a 5-year study which provides practitioners the scientific diagnoses to treat using the 7 new VR surgical procedures developed by him and gave women options for coping with an acquired sensation of wide/smooth vagina. He also discussed his recent finding of the G-spot and G-spotplasty which may have potential impact on the treatment of female sexual dysfunction. From left: Prof. D. Dodero (Italy), Prof. A. The information presented here about the second session was prepared by Troy R. Hailparn, M.D. who actively participated in the Plenary Session and attended the other

8 session. This session was held on October 10, 2012 and only 60 delegates participated in this event. The session was entitled What Role Will Cosmetic Surgery Play in Gynecology? and was chaired by Owen Montgomery, M.D. from Pennsylvania, U.S.A. He was also the first speaker of this session. He presented a topic entitled Brief Overview of the 2012 ACOG Statement of Policy and Committee Opinion which reviewed ACOG s recommendations for practitioners on informed consents, ethical practice, patient safety and the right to choose surgical interventions. The second speaker was Cheryl Iglesia, M.D, from Washington, DC, U.S.A. intended to review The History of and Current Status of Female Gynecologic Cosmetic Surgery (FGCS) in the United States: Data, Outcomes and Complications. It was neither a review of the history nor current status of female gynecologic cosmetic surgery, since she offered in her presentation unsubstantiated data from one article. This article has been scientifically scrutinized and it was documented to lack scientific validity. She misled participants by leaving out recent relevant scientific publications and ignored ACOG s recommendations regarding women s right to have a labioplasty instead offering the solution for women to wear bigger pants. An attorney and specializing in bioethics Bernard Dickens from Canada presented Macroethical and Microethical Aspects of Genital Cosmetic Surgery discussed societal needs for healthcare services which impact on what practitioners can offer and what options are available to women. A gynecologic oncologist Joanna Cain, M.D. from the U.S.A. spoke on Issues for Global Women s Health and Rights Raised by Cosmetic Surgery. In her presentation, she emphasized the woman s right to choose cosmetic-plastic gynecologic surgeries as long as education of anatomy, its variations, and function as well as potential harms are well understood by women. Contrary to the first Plenary Session, speakers of the second session have never practiced or conducted a clinical research study related to cosmetic-plastic

9 gynecology and merely expressed their own unsupported opinion related to the cosmetic-plastic gynecologic field.
