The precipitating event for the crisis occurred on April 25, 2014, when the City of Flint made the switch from the Detroit Water & Sewer Department to the Flint River, without applying corrosion control.

9 No safe blood level has been identified and all sources of lead exposure for children should be controlled or eliminated. Lead concentrations in drinking water should be below the U. S.
