Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination, of Satan's handwork: eschew such (abomination) that you may prosper.

Mother to child transmission Occurs during delivery No intra Uterine transmission Not through breast milk and mothers can normally feed their new born babies Kissing babies, sleeping in same etc does not transmit disease

SEXUAL TRANSMISSION HEPATITIS B Common if spouse HBeAg positive Rare in low grade carriers Vaccination almost 100 % effective HEPATITIS C Rare (No routine restriction required) No vaccination Transmission B&C- common in Homosexuals

Sexual Transmission: Prostitution: Prostitutes are one of the main source of transmission و ال ت ق ب وا الز ن ى إ ى ه ك ا ف اح ظ ة و س اء س ب يال Nor come near to adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils).

Vaccination against Hepatitis B More than 95% effective Schedule: 0, 1, 6 months (3 months) Who should be vaccinated? All Health care workers - Surgeons at higher risk Dialysis patients Immuno-suppressed Others

Post Exposure Prophylaxis against Hepatitis B Not previously Vaccinated HBIG + Three doses active vaccination Previously Vaccinated Do HBsAb - More than 10 Units (No worries) Less that 10 Units (Get a single shot of active vaccination HBsAb after two weeks No or <10 HBsAb - Full course of vaccination Intradermal Vaccination

NOT TRANSMITTED THROUGH Casual contact (hand shake, eating together, living together etc) Sweat Tears Urine and Stool (No need for separate bathroom) Using common clothes / Towels Contact / visit with Hepatitis patient
