8 Key statistics Source: NW Russia s AIDS Centre (St. Petersburg) At the end of 217 there were 12,694 people living with HIV in the Northwest Russia All in all, 129,676 HIV cases were registered in Northwest Russia during the whole period of the infection registration up to late 217 (11% of all HIV cases recorded in Russia) 26,982 people with HIV died In 217, incidence rate for HIV infection in the Northwest Russia was 4,4 per 1, population (Russia s average rate 71,1 per 1, population)

11 In 217, 34,1% of the people under the follow-up had a subclinical (latent) stage of the HIV-infection. The stage of secondary symptoms was diagnosed with 61,1% of the PLWHs (25 11,3%, 26 24,2%, 27 27,4%, 28 28,7%) 1,39 deaths were diagnosed as deaths from AIDS in 217.
