2 The BLOC TOT Program is Funded by The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program A comprehensive system of care that provides HIV care and treatment services to more than half a million people each year. 5 Rationale for BLOC The purpose of BLOC is to contribute to the national HIV goals by ensuring people of color living with HIV, including transgender women of color, are equipped to provide meaningful input and guidance on achieving these goals via their participation on HIV planning bodies. 5

6 BLOC Target The BLOC TOT program is targeting Ryan White Grantees to Partner with a community partners of color living with HIV BLOC is a program targets people of color living with HIV of all ages [e.g. Black, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian/Alaskan Native (AI/AN), and Asian Pacific Islander (API)], including a special emphasis on transgender women of color living with HIV.

7 BLOC. BLOC will contribute to a decrease in health disparities by developing leaders of color living with HIV who are emboldened to fully participate in RWHAP, planning bodies, and other leadership opportunities. Their participation will inform, educate, and support planning bodies and services providers to truly understand the needs of those who are most vulnerable. BLOC graduates will develop solutions that are built on the strengths and assets of these communities to create real solutions. BLOC trainings will give voice to those communities that are over represented in the number of new HIV cases, but under-represented in leadership opportunities.

8 Purpose of BLOC Program To increase the number of Persons of Color Living with HIV who are actively serving in leadership roles or engaged in leadership activities related to HIV-related services at all levels of decision making in your local communities

9 BLOC TOT Program Expectations Commit to the full BLOC Program Actively participate in all activities i.e. training, webinars, survey s, conference calls, and homework, etc. Remain in contact with staff and your network peers Come with an open mind to learn and share Be respectful to staff and your network peers, at all times during and after the training Return home and be actively engaged in HIVrelated service delivery Seek leadership opportunities to improve care

10 BLOC TOT Program Expectations (Con t) Teams will be comprised of one agency representative and one Person of Color Living with HIV. Team members should have basic training skills for conducting training workshops Teams will commit to conducting 3-4 BLOC training for Persons of Color Living with HIV in their jurisdiction (can be done in multiple sessions) within 7 months after the TOT training. Teams will attend bi-monthly follow-up webinars and continuing education opportunities for up to six months.

NMAC Announces Building Leaders of Color (BLOC) NMAC s Building Leaders of Color is seeking People of Color Living with HIV to join this unique training program. There will be three (3) program training
