12 Three Goals of the Regional AETC Program Increase the size and strengthen the skills of the HIV clinical workforce in the United States. 20 Na<onal Clinicians Consulta<on Center (NCCC) Supply health care providers with a na<onal resource to obtain responses to clinical ques<ons rela<ng to: 1) Treatment of persons with HIV- infec<on; 2) Health care worker exposure to HIV and other blood borne pathogens (e.g., hepa<<s) 3) Treatment of HIV- infected pregnant women and their infants and a referral service to connect HIV- infected pregnant women and exposed infants with HIV- experienced care providers 20

22 Na<onal Evalua<on Center (NEC) Develops methodology and tools that measure the impact and outcomes of training, educa<on and clinical consulta<on services and distance learning educa<on aimed to improve the care of people living with HIV/AIDS Ac<vi<es must be learner- centered and contribute to the con<nuous quality improvement of the en<re AETC program including training, educa<on, and clinical consulta<on ac<vi<es as well as distance learning educa<on. 22
