1 Horse Meridians & Ting Points Just like the Chakras are the main energy centers, the Meridians are the major pathways. They help to determine where the energy travels through the body. If these pathways become blocked, then other systems will fail, causing illness. Illness and disease are our body s way of communicating to us on a conscious level, that there is a problem. In the body, there are twelve meridians. They are paired up as shown as Yin and Yang couples to maintain balance of Chi. Each of these meridians is related to a specific organ system and has a paired meridian, with which it works together. If one of the two coupled meridians is treated, the other benefits as well. For example, the Heart meridian, a Yin, and the Small Intestine meridian, a Yang, are paired. Using grounding crystals, such Black Tourmaline, Hematite and Black Onyx, while tracing the Meridians, will help to clear any blockages and increase energetic flow throughout the horses system. The Meridians are listed in pairs, as there is always a Yin and a Yang. Your horse may be only displaying symptoms of discomfort or illness in a particular area, and you may choose to perform Crystal Therapy along that Meridian or the corresponding Chakra, and that is great! However, if you choose to work on one of the Yin Meridians, you MUST work on the Yang, in order to keep your horse in balance. I cannot stress this enough! Lisa Dyck, Page 1

The Governing Vessel is linked with all the Yang meridians and strengthens the body's Yang energy. It influences the brain and the spine.

5 Two other important energy pathways travel along the midline of the body. They are: The Conception Vessel is linked to all the Yin meridians. As its name suggests, it has an influence on the reproductive systems, particularly the mare. It runs along the midline on the underside of the horse, from the anus to the lower lip. The Governing Vessel is linked with all the Yang meridians and strengthens the body's Yang energy. It influences the brain and the spine. It runs along the midline on the horse's back, from the anus to the upper lip. These energy pathways are not directly associated with the organs, but they act as overflow vessels to assist in balancing the highs and lows of energy in the twelve meridians when needed. Meridian and point charts are a very useful guide, but due to the animals' individual differences, they cannot be exact in showing the precise locations for each meridian or point. One can develop a feel for the energy and do a more precise location using tactile senses. This is the most reliable way to locate them. Lisa Dyck, Page 5

6 Ting Points Ting Points are the ending points for the meridians, located along the coronet bands of the hind feet. By stimulating these points by massage, crystals, or essential oils, you can actually stimulate healing the energy pathways in the Meridians. Of course, following the Meridians is more effective, but Ting Points are a great place to start if you are unsure.
