2 CENTRAL COUNCIL FOR RESEARCH IN HOMOEOPATHY Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, autonomous organization of Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India undertakes research and development in Homoeopathy. The objectives of the council include formulation of aims and patterns of research on scientific lines, to undertake research or other programs, prosecution of and assistance in research, propagation of knowledge and measures related to cause and prevention of diseases, to conduct research in fundamental and applied aspects, to assist institutions in research, with emphasis for covering rural population in the country and to collaborate with other institutions, and disseminate knowledge through publications etc. Systematized research in Homoeopathy is undertaken by the Council in the broad areas of clinical research, drug standardization, drug proving, clinical verification, fundamental research and public health & epidemics. Council is promoting integrative and interdisciplinary research to enrich the scientific base of Homoeopathy and has undertaken studies in collaboration with institutes of allied sciences specially in the field of basic research. Specific mechanisms in terms of publications, organizations of seminars, conferences, CMEs and participation of Council in scientific and public health programs have been established to ensure research dissemination and translation of research outcomes for benefit of practitioners, academicians, researchers and public. CCRH has conducted more than 100 clinical research studies mostly multicentric, including observational studies, comparative studies and randomized controlled trials. The research protocols have been developed in consultation with experts of Homoeopathy and modern medicine and evidence based research outcomes have been published in indexed and non-indexed journals. Standard treatment guidelines are being developed on various clinical conditions and are available on the website of the Council. Drugs proved by the Council are verified clinically to develop their therapeutic potential. Council has introduced 15 new drugs and which are also incorporated in the Homoeopathic Pharmacopeia of India. The standardization parameters of the old and new drugs have been developed for their inclusion in the homoeopathic pharmacopeias and development of standardization parameters of finished products is ongoing. Council has contributed
3 standards of more than 300 drugs. Clinical validation of drugs included in the Essential Drugs List Homoeopathy is being conducted on identified clinical conditions using modern statistical approaches. More than 40 studies on basic research have been conducted in collaboration with institutes of excellence, whose results have been published. The Council has published more than 400 research papers in journals in India and abroad. The Council has also developed the Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy, which is an online open access journal indexed with the Directory of Open access of Journals and Index Copernicus. The journal is registered with Baidu Scholar, CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), EBSCO Publishing's Electronic Databases, Exlibris Primo Central, Google Scholar, Hinari, Infotrieve, National Science Library, ProQuest, TdNet as its abstracting partners. Council has also taken up public health programmes as per the directions of the Government of India. Subsequent to the National Campaign on Homoeopathy for Mother and Child Care, public health program on Homoeopathy for Healthy Child was undertaken on research mode on pilot basis. Under the Swasthya Rakshan program of the Government of India and special programmes for empowerment of vulnerable populations, health care services through health camps, outreach OPDs, special clinics etc. are provided to identified areas in rural areas, tribal areas, villages, urban slums, etc. Council has more than 100 priced and non-priced publications for professional s academicians, researchers, students and general public. In order to promote quality research and to recognize contribution in development of Homoeopathic sciences, CCRH with the approval of Ministry of AYUSH, has initiated the scheme of felicitation and awards to achievers for their contribution in growth of Homeopathic system of medicine. The focus of the scheme is to recognize excellence in research in Homoeopathy at individual level, within organized institutional settings. The Awards were launched in 2016 and are in four categories viz. Lifetime Achievement Award, Best Teacher Award, Best Research Paper Award and Young Scientist Award. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes distinctive, arduous contribution in research, practice and academics. The Best Teacher Award seeks active contribution in research translating to academic
4 excellence. Best Research Paper award is for peer reviewed publications in Homoeopathy research in recent years which is of high quality in terms of study design, conduct and publication standards. The Young Scientist Award recognizes upcoming talent in Homoeopathy research, which has a potential to steer progress of Homoeopathy in the country in coming years. The awards are open to professionals not only from India but for other countries, who have active contribution in Homoeopathy. The applicants can apply/nominate applicants (within the scheme provisions) in response to the advertisement issued in national newspapers and on Council s website.

6 CCRH AWARDS BEST RESEARCH PAPER AWARD IN HOMOEOPATHY Preamble The Award is in recognition of the importance of published research papers for developing, promoting quality contribution to research and writing among scholars and disseminating knowledge for the benefit of current and future practice of Homoeopathy. The Award aims to celebrate individual excellence in research. Category of Awards The awards (one each) are given in following fields: i) Clinical research ii) Drug research iii) Literary research Awards Carries Eligibility: Criteria: i) Cash award: 50,000 (Rupees Fifty thousand only) ii) Certificate of honour i) The award is to be given to a scientist and researcher working in any Institution in the country and abroad for paper that substantiates a new and novel idea or approach contributing to the cumulative knowledge base of the field and is likely to inspire fellow scholars in their research made primarily in the field of Homoeopathy. ii) The paper must have been published in peer-reviewed research journal between January December iii) The nominee should not have presented for similar award elsewhere for the same paper. iv) In case of a joint research work, the applicant for award shall furnish a No Objection Certificate from other contributors for application. If NOC is not available, then the affidavit may be submitted by the applicant indicating the same. The role of the individual who applies for the award may be clearly indicated to determine whether major part of the work has been done by that person. The assessment is based on the significant contributions made by the researcher to the existing knowledge in a subject area in which he/she is actively engaged..-1-
7 CCRH AWARDS YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD IN HOMOEOPATHY Preamble The Award is for promoting excellence and recognizing outstanding contributions made by research scientists for their work in the field of Homoeopathy. The Award aims to celebrate individual excellence in research. Category of Awards The awards (one each) are given in following fields: Awards Carries Eligibility: i) Clinical research ii) Drug research iii) Literary research i) Cash award: 1,00,000 (Rupees one lakh only). ii) Certificate of honour i) The award is to be given to the scientists and researchers working in any Institution or independent researcher in the country and abroad who has displayed a potential for high quality research and outstanding research contribution(s) made primarily in the field of Homoeopathy in aforesaid areas. ii) He/ She should be engaged in research and development, and have publications arising from research done as an independent investigator in the country and abroad. iii) The nominations may be supported by the original research work done for the greater good of the humanity with contribution to the homoeopathic field. iv) The age limit for the award shall be up to 45 years on or before 1 st January of the year of conferring award. Criteria: The criteria for selection of the award is the significance and value of addition to the existing knowledge as contributed by a scientist in the field in which he/she has actively engaged and has shown sustained research activity in the preceding years. -2-
8 CCRH AWARDS LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD IN HOMOEOPATHY Preamble The Awardis given to Best Practitioner/Researcher/Academician that have contributed significantly in unique or innovative findings, theoretical constructs, educational approaches or practices and/or have made exceptional practical application(s) of others research. The Award recognises distinctive and exemplary contributions in Homoeopathy research/practice/ academics. Category of Awards The awards (one each) are given in following fields: i) Best Researcher ii) Best Practitioner iii) Best Academician Awards Carries i) Cash award: 2,00,000 (Rupees two lakh only) ii) Certificate of honour Eligibility: i) The award provides recognition to those researchers/practitioners/academiciansof the country and abroad whose work has been seminal, exemplary, and the embodiment of a commitment to advancing homoeopathic system of medicine over a period not less than 25years. ii) The work may be represented by a single highly significant book, minimum of five publications as primary author in refereed academic journals, or a minimum of eight publications as a secondary author in refereed academic journals, significant contributions as a presenter at professional conferences or any combination. iii) The excellence of work should be evidenced by scientific publications in internationally recognized journals and contributions to advancementof knowledge and/or improvements in medical practices, health programmes, etc. -3-

10 CCRH AWARDS BEST TEACHER AWARD IN HOMOEOPATHY Preamble The Awardhonours outstanding teacher that hascontributed significantly in educational approaches or practices,theoretical constructs, innovative findings, and/or have contributed in research. The Award recognises distinctive and exemplary contributions in Homoeopathy education. Category of Awards The awards (one each) are given in following fields: i) Clinical research ii) Drug research iii) Literary research Awards Carries i) Cash award: 2,00,000 (Rupees two lakh only) ii) Certificate of honour Eligibility: i) The award is to give recognition to the eminent teacher who has contributed significantly for enhancing homeopathic knowledge and practices. The award is to be given to the best teacher in the field of Homoeopathy for contributing a great deal of service in different spheres of activities in Homoeopathy in clinical, literary and drug research, separatelyover a period not less than 25years. ii) iii) The work may be represented by a single highly significant book, book chapters, innovation in teaching practices,contribution in development or enhancement of curricula, mentoring of undergraduate or postgraduate students or doctoral and clinical supervision, scientific publications as primary author/co-author in refereed academic journals, significant contributions as a presenter at professional conferences or any combination. The prize is awarded based on contributions made through work done during the active career of the candidate. Criteria: The excellence of the work should be evidenced by contribution made to advancement of knowledge and/or improvements in educational practices etc. -5-
11 HOW TO APPLY CCRH invites nominations/ applications from scientists for CCRH Awards the year Applicant should provide the names and other particulars of the candidates for award of the prizes in the prescribed proforma. In case of nominee from abroad, the form should be forwarded through Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India fulfilling all the requirements as per guidelines for foreign nomination. I. Original + Five copies of each of the following documents should be submitted along with the application: i) The proforma for application/nomination with the details duly completed. ii) A note giving full details of the outstanding research contributions of the nominee or applicant, which makes him/her worthy of the award. iii) A short biographical sketch of the candidate. iv) A list of papers published by the candidate giving details of work published in Indian and Foreign Journals separately and indicating whether the journals are indexed or not. (Enclose five reprints of each of the papers*). v) Self-attested copy of Date of Birth. II. A CD/DVD/USB flash drive containing digital photograph (in JPEG format), duly filled proforma and publications (in PDF format) of the nominee. 12 TERMS & CONDITIONS 1. Nomination i) The nominee application is to be forwarded by Head of any Homoeopathic research organization/ Homoeopathic PG Institution/ Director Homoeopathy or AYUSH of State/Central Government/ UT Administration/ autonomous/statutory body and referred by two potential referees (to include at least one current/former colleague of the nominee, who may be an employer/employee such as a Head of Department, Dean etc.) ii) The nominee should not be related either by blood, marriage or adoption to the person making the nomination provided that such a person has not played any direct part in the nominee s work. 2. Only nominations which are complete in all respects will be considered.original + five sets documents should be submitted, each set containing one copy of the documents indicated in the section How to Apply. If sets received are not complete, the application/nomination will not be considered. 3. The candidates should apply for one award only. 4. Applications will be entertained only after the advertisement of the awards of the particular year. 5. Only work published in scientific journals will be considered for awards. 6. The Prize is awarded based on contributions made through work done during the preceding years or as specifically mentioned under the award. 7. If a scientist has received CCRH award for a subject, the same material will not be considered for another award or the same award in the subsequent year. 8. Selection will be made by a committee constituted specifically for the purpose/award. 9. The award will be given at a formal presentation ceremony arranged by CCRH. At the ceremony, a suitable citation on work of the recipient of the Prize is read out. 10. No nomination will be considered absentia. 11. In all matters of award, the decision of CCRH shall be final. -7-

Nomination: (i) Nominations from individuals sponsoring their own names are not acceptable. (ii) Name of candidate may be sponsored by a member of the Governing Body/Scientific Advisory Committee of CCRH/recipient of Life time achievement award in previous years and should be endorsed by the names and addresses of two potential referees (to include at least one current/former colleague of the nominee, who may be an employer/employee such as a Head of Department, Dean etc.) OR The name of candidate may be sponsored by Head of any Homoeopathic research organization/ Homoeopathic PG Institution/ Director Homoeopathy/AYUSH of State/Central Government/ UT Administration/ Autonomous/ Statutory body and referred by two potential referees (to include at least one current/former colleague of the nominee, who may be an employer/employee such as a Head of Department, Dean etc.) 2. Each nomination, shall be on prescribed format giving detailed information on the achievements of the nominee. In addition, the sponsor should attach a note of more than 500 words highlighting the importance of contributions of the nominee and justifying the nomination. NOTE i) Only nominations complete in all respects will be considered. ii) In event of any dispute arising out of the claims of the nominee being contested by other scientists/co-authors of the research publications the onus will be on the nominee and CCRH will not be responsible for any such disputes arising out of counter claims. iii) A candidate, once nominated, would be considered for the year, it is applied for. Once such a nomination has been received, CCRH can correspond directly with the candidate for supplementary information, if necessary. iv) Selection will be made by a committee constituted specifically for the purpose/ award. -8-
