1 Appendix B s...shaping the future of health care to prevent, control, and cure diseases.
2 Appendix B Appendix B Appendi The Office of the ly Directed Medical s (CDMRP) was established with a congressional appropriation of $20 million (M) for peer reviewed breast cancer research to be administered by the U.S. Army in fiscal year 993 (FY93). At this time, the CDMRP assumed responsibility for the science management of the FY92 Breast Cancer grants that had been executed by another Directorate within the U.S. Army Medical and Materiel Command. As a steward of these appropriated funds, the Department of Defense is responsible and accountable for the disbursement of each taxpayer dollar. A detailed summary of all funds obligated for FY02 and FY03 programs can be found in this appendix. In some instances, proposals received in response to one FY solicitation are funded with dollars from another FY appropriation. Decisions to fund in this manner are made in the best interest of the scientific community and the government and/or upon recommendations of CDMRP Integration Panels. B-2
