5 Patients have access to leading radiation oncologists. Oncologist profiles DR KEVIN PALUMBO graduated in Medicine at the University of Adelaide in He later trained in Radiation Oncology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, graduating in Dr Palumbo worked as a consultant clinical oncologist at Western Infirmary, Glasgow from 1997 to He returned to Royal Adelaide Hospital as a Staff Specialist, until he joined Adelaide Radiotherapy Centre in From 2000 to 2003 Dr Palumbo was also an examiner for the Part I examinations of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) Faculty of Radiation Oncology. His special interests include malignancies of the central nervous system, head and neck, urological, respiratory and gastrointestinal systems. Dr Palumbo consults at numerous locations: our Adelaide City site, Calvary Central Districts Hospital, Kurralta Park Tennyson Centre and Calvary North Adelaide Hospital. DR MARCUS DREOSTI graduated from Adelaide University and Flinders University with degrees in Law and Medicine before moving to Sydney where he commenced his specialist training in Radiation Oncology at St Vincent s Hospital. He completed Clinical Fellowships in Singapore and Darwin gaining experience in accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI) and he developed and implemented protocols for the use of intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) in Head and Neck and Anal Cancer. He then returned to Sydney as a Staff Specialist at the Liverpool and Macarthur Cancer Centres gaining broad experience working in a sub-specialised tertiary cancer centre including with Tomotherapy and stereotactic radiotherapy and carried a large breast and lung cancer clinical load. Dr Dreosti is involved in both medical student and Registrar teaching and is a College Examiner. He is also a member of the College Accreditation Panel which accredits hospitals
6 nationally as training centres for Registrars. Dr Dreosti has returned to Adelaide and is a partner of the Adelaide Radiotherapy Centre. He is involved nationally within Genesis Cancer Care to ensure that the highest quality of radiotherapy is delivered in keeping with national protocols with a focus on standardisation and quality assurance. He works across all areas, with particular clinical interests in breast, lung, prostate and gastrointestinal cancers. He works out of the fully equipped Radiotherapy Clinics at South Terrace, Calvary Central Districts Hospital and the Tennyson Centre at Kurralta Park. DR PHUONG TRAN graduated from the University of Adelaide in She undertook postgraduate training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and was the inaugural trainee at Adelaide Radiotherapy Centre/Flinders Medical Centre, gaining her specialist qualifications in Radiation Oncology in Dr Tran has subspecialty interests in urological malignancies (in particular prostate cancer), lung and breast malignancies. Having established the Prostate Low-Dose Rate Brachytherapy Program at Tennyson Centre, she is also on the working party for GenesisCare s multi-institutional Prostate Brachytherapy Database Project and a member of the State Lung Cancer Pathway Working Group, created under the auspices of the SA Cancer Clinical Network. Dr Tran is also a volunteer medical officer for Camp Quality which aims to support children and their families living with cancer. Dr Tran consults at Adelaide Radiotherapy Centre s rooms at Tennyson Centre and Calvary Central Districts Hospital. She is also a Visiting Medical Specialist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
