2 COMPLEMENTARY FEED FOR BEEF is a complementary feed for beef developed in scientific collaboration with the University of Parma, composed of distilled and fractionated coconut fatty acids esterified with glycerol, butyric and propionic acid esterified with glycerol, distilled glycerol. H 2 O Emulsion of in water is used in all rearing conditions to: improve the lipid quality, consistency and marbling of the meat improve the NDF digestion and, consequently, the energetic level of the diet without acidosis risks: higher NDF digestion = higher energy from fiber = less acidosis risks improve the energetic level of the diets thanks to the short and medium chain fatty acids contained in HOW WORKS? 1. exponentially increases the cellulolytic activity of the microbial population in the rumen; the NDF becomes more available for the beef (through bacterial degradation) 2. increases the amount of protozoans and bacteria, increasing, in this way, the quantity of performing proteins available for meat production 3. exerts an emulsifying action avoiding fiber coating by unsaturated fatty acids that can be present in the diet 4. supplies highly digestible saturated short and medium chain fatty acids, increasing the energetic level of the diet.

Their efficacy is in fact not affected by the ph value in the range from 1 to 8. Studies carried out by the Public Animal Health Institute "Bruno Ubertini" (Dr. G. Tosi) proved that specific blends of 1-Monoglycerides from C4 to C12 inhibit the growth of Salmonella, Clostridium perfringens, Streptoccoccus uberis, Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, but they do not inhibit the beneficial Lactobacillus.
