I am studying Entertainment Business, and plan to attend law school.
2 Q&A with RACHEL RACHEL answers questions about her life, experiences, and good memories Which words describe your personality? Kind, compassionate, funny, intelligent, ambitious, outgoing. Describe your strong sides: My ambition always drives me to push myself further, and I can make the most out of scary situations by making people laugh and feel comfortable. I am a very giving person, and I always want people to feel able to talk to me and feel open when they re around me. Describe your weak sides: I can sometimes get overwhelmed and shut down. I tend to bite off more than I can chew, and that can be scary. What is your marital status? Single. Do you have any children? No. Which types of sport do you play or have played? Lacrosse, cheerleading. Do you smoke? No. Do you ride a bicycle? Often. How much alcohol do you drink on average per week? None. Which countries have you visited: Aruba, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Curaçao, Honduras, Ireland, Jamaica, Mexico, United States, United States Virgin Islands Describe the best holiday you have had: When I went to Ireland, I saw an entirely different world than I knew was possible. I went alone because I was studying abroad, and it was both terrifying and exciting. Trying the different foods, seeing the old castles and meeting all kinds of people was the coolest thing I have done to date. Which other types of sports are you interested in? Mixed martial arts, hockey, football. List any other hobbies you may have or have had: Art, fitness, reading. List which musical instruments you play or have played: None. Religion: Non-denominational. How many hours of sleep do you get on an average night? 6-8. Do you eat healthy? I try. What do you like the most about your own country: I like how the United States gives everyone an opportunity to pursue what sets their soul on fire, as my mother always says. I am able to change my mind on what interests me and still get the right education, regardless of the field.
3 Q&A with RACHEL - continued RACHEL s dreams, favorites and experiences Who are your idols/heroes/heroines? My mother is my hero. She inspires me every day to listen to my heart, to be who I want to be, to support myself and to support other women. I hope that one day I can be half the woman she is. What are your goals in life? My goals are to be happy, to see the world, and to provide my family with whatever they need. What were your childhood dreams: As a child, I wanted to be a veterinarian and to travel the world, saving exotic animals. I still would love to volunteer and take advantage of opportunities to travel and help other people. Which values do you rank the highest? Ambition, compassion and appreciation. Which childhood experience made the biggest impression on you? When I was 15 years old, I moved across the state which was devastating. I left all my friends, my family, and my sports team. It was really hard for me because I grew up in a small town, and we moved to a city. After about a year, I acclimated, made friends and started to root myself in my new home. It made a huge impression on me because I realized how resilient I could be, even at such a young age. Which was your greatest experience or moment? As simple as it seems, one morning in Ireland I woke up early, right as the sun was rising and got a hot cup of tea and walked to a park. Sitting there, experiencing this wild world I live in and seeing what is in store for me it s the little things that really stick out for me. Happiest: My happiest experience was seeing the American singer Stevie Nicks in concert with my mom. I grew up listening to the album Rumours by the band Fleetwood Mac (in which Stevie Nicks was a singer and songwriter), and seeing her was a dream come true. Funniest: My best friend and I are absolutely hilarious when we are together, there are too many funny instances to choose just one but we always make each other laugh and can make other people laugh too. Scariest: I ziplined last year over a mountain cavern I may have cried a little bit in the process because I do not like heights, but I never step down from a challenge. Proudest: Graduating college. I am set to graduate this year and I have been working really hard on achieving this goal. I think when I finally am handed my diploma, it will be my proudest moment. Most dangerous: Cliff diving. My parents took my brother and me to Jamaica when we were younger, and we stayed in a bungalow on some beautiful cliffs. My brother and I spent the week jumping off the cliffs into the clear water. Greatest sorrow: When my nanny died. I was very close to her growing up and losing her was a detrimental loss to our entire family. What is your favorite color? Orange, like the sunset. Nothing compares to seeing the sun set over the ocean, the sky is so bright and beautiful. What is your favorite animal? Whales, they re incredibly intelligent and have their own form of communication. What is your favorite kind of food? Lasagna, there s something about Italian food that speaks to my soul. What is your favorite kind of music: Alternative Rock, this genre is very broad and can be mellow or dance music. I like the variety. What is your favorite kind of car: Dodge Challenger. As a child, I was a huge fan of the television show Starsky & Hutch, and after seeing that car I remember thinking to myself that I need to have one of my own some day. What is your favorite kind of pet: Dog, I have a rescue pug and it may seem cliché, but I can say that I feel she saved me more than I saved her. She is my best friend, so sweet and affectionate, and she makes every day feel like Christmas morning. What is your favorite time of year: Fall. Halloween is my favorite holiday because I love the decorations and spooky movies. Everything is pumpkin-flavored and the air gets cooler and crisper. Seeing the leaves change is always beautiful too. What is your favorite book and/or author: Looking for Alaska, by John Green. This is more of a youngadult novel, but I remember reading this book and it completely changed the way I looked at life. The quote, the only way out is through taught me to stay resilient and persevere, no matter what. What is your favorite movie and/or director: Star Wars: A New Hope, I am a huge fan of science fiction and fantasy films, and the entire Star Wars series is incredible.
